How can you resist a face like this? We met up with Check the Cites in the wash stall while he was getting a bath. He stood perfectly still while cross tied and we commented on his good behavior on this very chilly day. His trainer stated that he NEVER puts a foot out of place. He can always count on him to be well mannered, sensible, and quiet. His trainer thinks he will make an excellent children’s horse. Check the Cites was a $62,000 yearling and we can see why! He has a beautiful, correct, uphill build. He has nice clean legs and gorgeous, sound movement. He has an excellent race record earning over $87,000 in his 57 starts. Through all of his starts, he has maintained clean legs. This is a testament to his durable legs and body and a hard working personality. His trainer states that he is a barn favorite and if he could keep him forever, he would. However, he knows he will be successful in his second career, likely with a child. We could see him excelling as a children’s hunter, but with his ground covering and lofty trot with good suspension, we know he will be a champion in any of his future sport horse endeavors. His trainer will check references and his new home must provide LOTS of peppermints (Check the Cites’ favorite treat). He has no stable vices.
