This striking looking dark liver chestnut is like a nifty sports car — compact, flashy with chrome, speedy, responsive, and sensitive. His trainer has had him for several years, and he says he is still a sound and happy horse. Elijah has been a durable and hard trying racehorse, with 6 wins and 6 more top three finishes, and over $147,000 in earnings. But he has slowed down this year, so his trainer figures it is time to let him go enjoy a new career. We got additional information about Elijah from someone who used to gallop him. She reports that he has a soft mouth, does not like heavy handed riders, and prefers women riders. She also reports that he is a sensitive and intuitive horse who feeds off the vibe from people and the environment — if there is a lot of hectic activity going on or the people handling him are stressed, he picks up on that. But if you are a calm, happy and patient person, then Elijah will be that way too. In our experience, when horses are still as clean legged and sound as Elijah after several years of racing, they have proven that they are balanced, efficient movers who are not hard on themselves, and are inherently durable horses who have many good years left to give. Elijah is by Western Expression, who is a son of Gone West out of a mare from Majestic Light and Buckpasser lines. Elijah’s dam, Apocalyptical, is by Wiseman’s Ferry out of a mare from Seattle Slew and Prince John lines. Elijah is a 3/4 brother to a horse that is a multiple graded stakes winner who won over a million dollars on the track and who also held up sound throughout a long career. Make Elijah your Chosen One, and he will reward you for a long time!
