This homebred girl is a BIG powerhouse with a lofty trot that just shouts dressage or eventing. She will need an experienced rider to bring out her potential — her groom says she can be a handful. She has had only 3 starts. In mid July she came up with some ankle filling after a race, so her trainer had it evaluated and rested her, and now she is reported to be fine and ready to go back to work. But since she was not showing any racing ability, and has such obvious potential for other careers, he would rather let her go on to a new discipline than put her back into race training now with only a couple of months left in the racing season at Finger Lakes. Because she has not been in training but is still getting race horse rations, and it was cold and windy on the day we took her photos, she was snorting and feeling exuberant at being outside, and really wanted to show off her springy movement and huge extended trot! We think once she gets to enjoy turnout, gets on a non-racehorse feed program, and is back to regular work, she will settle down and channel her energy into learning her new job. Her legs looked clean, and she appeared sound at the trot. With her solid bone, huge shoulder, and big stride, she sure looks like she will be able to jump anything. She has an excellent pedigree for sport. Her sire, Dublin, is a son of Afleet Alex. We have placed a few Dublin offspring in the last couple of years, and they are quickly settling right into hunter paces, jumping, and learning to event. Spectacular Bid, Riva Ridge, Northern Dancer, Hoist the Flag, Gallant Man, are just some of the illustrious names in her pedigree known for stamina.
