Far Away Star, “Virginia” to her connections, has been away from racing for a couple years and was intended to resume racing this year. She has four recorded breezes in 2017, the most recent on 10/5/17 when she bowed a tendon. Virginia was photographed late in the day and her legs were already done up. Her trainer described her as sound and, although she has pent-up energy from being on stall rest, we could see really cute, sound movement at the jog. She was ultrasounded after her injury and the images are available for viewing at her veterinarian’s on-track office. She is described as a total sweetheart who is lovely to ride (her trainer is her rider) and is without vices. We admired her sturdy, compact build and kind eye. With adequate time to rehab her tendon, she will be good to go in just about any direction you choose.
