Update: This wonderful stakes winning war horse is going to Old Friends in Kentucky to enjoy a well deserved retirement!
If you like chestnut: check. If you like the older warhorses: check, check! If you’re smitten with a quirky Sabino spot: check, check, check! Don’t let his age deter you. This guy has been around the racetrack a few times and has the clean legs that come from being a solid campaigner. This boy is a stakes winner and made just over $500,000 is his career. At the age of three he won the New York Derby and the Mike Lee Stakes, two of three races of the New York Big Apple Triple Crown. At the age of four, he ran second in the Hollie Hughes Stakes in New York. So durable his trainer says he’s remained sound and ready to retire. He had a light airy trot despite the intense heat and showed us his fancy white spot. Quiet but alert as he watched all the activity going on around him. His trainer says he’s mellow in turn-out and gets along well with other horses. If you’re looking for a horse who’s proved he’s talented and and solid come check out this cutie. He is accustomed to being turned out with a herd and struck us as a good citizen. This gentleman still has a lot of life left in him!
