This lovely dappled girl is described by her connections as an “easy-going filly” who is a “sweetheart, not a runner” and a “doll that anyone at the track can ride”. That’s pretty much what we saw. She stood quietly as she was brought outside and her handler ran a brush over her pretty coat. We observed a sweet, relaxed, attentive, and ladylike mare. Her connections tell us that she doesn’t have any vices or injuries. But after a solid performance last year (including three wins), she has yet to get on the boards in her four starts in 2025; she just doesn’t seem have the same try. She is a striking and gorgeous girl, a dark bay color with just a touch of distinctive chrome. Slightly slenderer in build, leggy and elegant; she stood quietly remaining alert and expressive while we admired her pretty features. And although she was clearly happy to get moving, she remained attentive to her handler during her video, responding to his request to slow down on her second jog pass to display some pretty and springy movement. And we can vouch that she is fully peppermint trained! If you are looking for a sweet, pretty, affectionate mare then Jayla should be added to your list!
