MY LITTLE ONE, 2019 16h dk bay/black mare

Located at Finger Lakes Race Track, Farmington, NY (near Rochester)

We think that My Little One has eventing/jumping potential written all over her: this nearly all black beauty has great flowing big strided movement, an excellent sport horse pedigree, a get up and go attitude, and she is described as good to handle , the type of mare who is super clean in her stall, and a horse who makes friends easily in turn out. My Little One is a half-sister (out of the same dam) to March Madnez Party, who was one of our most popular listings last fall and is making great progress in his new sport horse career. Her handler described My Little One as “more high motor” than March (but keep in mind March was super mellow), but with a similar friendly demeanor. He says that My Little One is sweet natured but needs to trust and bond with her person for her loving nature to fully emerge. He says they got her as a two year old from a semi-feral “thrown in a pasture” situation in which she had been roughly handled, and he put a lot of time into her showing her that people can be good and putting a solid training foundation into her. She has responded by showing her true loving nature, but racing has not been her best game. She has yet to win in 29 starts, but she has enough in the money finishes to pay her way. Because of her rough start in her early days, he thinks she will do best in a quieter program with people who will spend time and attention with her. A big busy lesson barn where horses are given limited time to bond with a particular person would not be the best situation for her. For her jog video, when her handler started moving fast, My Little One responded in kind, showing off a huge ground covering trot with amazing reach and flat kneed movement. Then when we asked him to slow down My Little One agreeably slowed her pace as well. We admire dhow responsive she was to her handler. Her sire is Bellamy Road, who is from the Forty Niner sire line, and he has been a sire of durable, good brained horses who are willing, can jump, and have been successful in sporting endeavors ranging from hunters, eventing, jumping, foxhunting, and trails/hunter paces. Her dam, Atrous, is by Arch, from Roberto and Danzig lines, and her dam brings in Buckpasser and another Danzig cross. Arch offspring are known for their great brains and athletic ability, and the other sires in this female family are also noted sport horse sire lines.
