Update July 31, 2015: She has been taken in by an FLF volunteer who will now be the contact person for finding the perfect forever home for Ocala Princess. The filly is now located at a farm in Newark NY, not far from the Finger Lakes Race Track.
And what a pretty princess she is indeed! This striking dark beauty with a big blaze is lightly raced and sound, and letting her connections know that she just doesn’t want to be a racehorse. With her lovely balanced and uphill build, strong sloping shoulder, and lofty movement, we can see her excelling in the show hunter ring or dressage arena. Since she is only three, she is likely to grow some more, and may well top out at 16.1 to 16.2h. We thought she was quite beautiful now, but imagine how stunning she will be when filled out and with new muscling. Our admiration of her good looks turned to true excitement at her sport potential when we watched her jog for her video. Wow, what a lovely mover… lofty, light suspension and cadence, with a toe flicking trot. The assistant trainer who showed her to us remarked that when others have seen her moving on the track in the morning, Ocala Princess has drawn many compliments for what a nice mover she is. This beautiful young filly with no wear and tear on her presents a rare opportunity to get a horse with huge star potential for another discipline. She is a granddaughter of Pulpit, who is a son of AP Indy, and her dam is from the Danzig line, from one of the famous Darby Dan Farm’s best female families.
