This gorgeous mare has outstanding upper level sport horse potential for an experienced rider. She ticks all the boxes — good size, good bone, clean legs, good feet, an uphill build, a strong shoulder, and she is a very nice mover with good reach from her shoulders. After winning her initial race, Missy has found that second win elusive in a total of 18 starts, so her connections want to move her on to a new career. Her owner/trainer describes Missy as a smart and confident and hardy mare who like to work, and would do well in a steady program. She is not the sort of horse that can sit for a few weeks and have a rider just hop on. The owner also said Missy can be “persnickety” — while not marish or mean, she likes to have her way. If you are patient and steady with her, she is steady in return — indeed, the owner said MIssy is a gentle sweetheart with her grandchildren when they visit. But if the handler lacks confidence, or tries to be aggressive or overly assertive, Missy will respond in kind. An experienced rider, who knows how to work with a smart and confident and athletic horse to bring them along patiently and develop their full potential will be the ideal fit for Missy.
Missy is currently barefoot and hanging out at her owner’s farm and enjoying turn out. Even with bare feet, she trotted beautifully on the gravel driveway, showing lovely flowing movement. Her pedigree offers a lot to like for eventing and other jumping disciplines. She is by Hold Me back, a young son of Giant’s Causeway, and her multiple stakes winning dam is by Take Me Out, a son of Cure the Blues from the Stop the Music/Hail to Reason sire line. Missy is offered at a bargain price for a big, young, sound, and beautiful moving horse with so much potential, so better call fast!
