This handsome son of Maclean’s Music impressed us with his balanced conformation, strong shoulder, kind eye, and kind demeanor. He was always politely attentive to his handler, and his groom said he’s a good boy to handle and work with and has no vices. He has been a consistent and successful racehorse, with 4 wins, and 50% top 3 finishes in his 20 races. In mid-June, while training well for a return to the races after a winter break, he strained a front tendon. His trainer carefully rehabbed it, and it is cold and tight. Red Fortress has been trotting and cantering in the Eurociser and was cleared to go back into race training but with the end of the meet approaching his trainer thinks it is best to let him find a new career. The trainer did not think he has any limitations for a new career. With his solid build, kind temperament, and good looks, Red Fortress is an enticing prospect. Since he raced in 2024, and has published workouts in 2025, he is fully eligible for the 2026 RRP — we would love to see him add to the successes that FLFs have had at the RRP! He is sired by Maclean’s Music, a son of Distorted Humor. We have noted several Maclean’s Music offspring who have excelled in recent RRP TB Makeovers, as well as in hunter/jumper and eventing careers. His dam is by Yes Its True, from the Raja Baba branch of the Bold Ruler line — a durable old school TB line that those in the know seek out for sport horse careers.
