Stuart is indeed a steady guy! We first listed this very handsome fellow a couple of years ago, but when no one stepped up for him then his trainer kept him, and Stuart has been earning his way on the track, with 50% in the money finishes in 2016. He has the resume of a professional racehorse and has the impressive record to prove it. He is an example of the horse every trainer wants to have in their shedrow, an honest horse with a great work ethic. He is durable, big hearted, happy, and still trying his heart out on the track. With 91 starts, 9 wins, 15 seconds and 9 thirds, you can be sure this guy is hardy, durable, and still has a lot to give. His trainer says he is sound on old set osselets, and we saw no reason to think otherwise sincewe have watched him race including on September 30, and he moves quite well. Stuart is less competitive at the races this year, and his trainer would love to find this barn favorite a very good home where he can continue to bring great pleasure to people in a less demanding career. With his solid bodied good looks and lovely light movement, we can see Stuart doing just about any discipline off the track. Everyone who has taken an older “war horse” off the track knows they are THE BEST — if they have held up to racing for this long, they are obviously well balanced, light on their feet, sound and sane, and unflappable. His handler told us that he has a great personality, is great to work around and has no vices. He struck us as being a classy and well mannered gentleman who has proven his worth on the track and is ready to move on.
At the jog Stuart showed nicely balanced movement with reach, a testament to his soundness and beautiful conformation. Don’t let his age be a deterrent in snapping up this quality animal with tremendous potential for the discipline of your choice.
