Tassinaia, 2010 16.2+h dark bay mare

“Tassie” is her trainer’s beloved pet, and as we hung out with them and helped satisfy Tassie’s love for peppermints, we too fell in love with this big beautiful,, elegant and kind mare.  Tassie’s trainer says she is great to handle — even her elderly father easily handles her.  She is very nice to ride, but she is a big girl with big forward movement, so the trainer thinks an experienced rider who will love her athleticism  is the best fit for a new career for her much loved girl.  The trainer kept telling us how much she loves Tassie, and that she will shed some tears when she leaves the track to go to her new home — one that will have to keep in touch and let her know how her girl is doing.  It is time to let this big beautiful mare retire from racing to enjoy a new career because while she trains well in the morning, she no longer brings her A game to the afternoon races. Tassinaia is described as very sound, and we observed nice clean legs. She showed very good balanced light movement for her jog video.  The trainer says Tassinaia is a very good eater, but in the track environment she does not gain weight. At the farm over the winter, she more easily puts on weight.  She has a great pedigree for sport/jumping disciplines. She is sired by Raffie’s Majesty, from the His Majesty/Ribot sire line. He is well known for siring big great moving horses with great brains. Her dam brings in the very desirable sport sire lines of Buckpasser and Prince John/Princequillo.
