Broadway Bay, 2011 16.2h, bay gelding

Located at Finger Lakes Race Track, Farmington, NY (Near Rochester, NY). We were told in no uncertain terms that this sweet and classy horse is the favorite “barn boy”. He is a stakes placed winner of over $500,000 in his illustrious racing career! His assistant trainer emphasized that he needs the very best home where he can have a “fun life” because he is “everything great” and has made “lots of money” for his current connections. They want to insure that they do right by him. Earlier this summer, Broadway Bay incurred a sesamoid fracture, and they have been rehabbing it. We have been informed that the vet says he will need about three more months of stall rest, then can move on to limited turn out and then on to a new lighter riding career. They will authorize the vet to speak with seriously interested people. We were told that Broadway Bay is well-behaved in the barn and has no stable vices. His assistant trainer told us that her small children love him, frequently visit, and help with his feeding chores. During his photos, we observed a classy, quiet, friendly and curious horse. We liked his proportions- a short wheel base, with a long, sloping shoulder and solid, muscular body. You don’t realize how tall he is… until you stand next to him! He will definitely take up a lot of leg. Even though he was barefoot, and has been on stall rest, he jogged nicely on the pavement, with light and balanced easy movement, in a rounded frame with self-carriage, appearing relaxed and comfortable. This classy boy, who sold as a $50,000 yearling, has raced and placed at some big name tracks- Aqueduct, Saratoga, Belmont. In his 59 starts, he has earned over $520,000 with a 17-4-9 record.. He is by Flower Alley, a son of Distorted Humor, and his dam is by Cryptoclearance, who is by Fappiano out of a Hoist the Flag mare. This sensible and solid war horse is a well-traveled perfect gentleman, amateur-friendly, kids in the barn friendly, and definitely peppermint- friendly! He truly deserves a chance at a good new life in the right hands to finish his rehab and then bring him back patiently.
