We think this very pretty mare needs a prettier name to do her justice! The connections of this mare recognize when the time has come to pull the plug on racing and now is the time for Busted Handle. She has had a good race record with 3 wins out of 39 lifetime starts and 8 more in the money finishes, so she has earned her keep. Although she started her career on the NYRA circuit, she was shipped to Finger Lakes two years ago and her last wins were back to back almost exactly two years ago. Her trainer showered her with superlatives, stated she is sound, has no vices and is a very easy horse to gallop and that “anyone can get on her”. If that isn’t endorsement enough to draw you in, we absolutely loved her floating trot that demonstrated nice suspension and rhythm. Pretty, sound grays don’t usually last long so if you are inclined to make a phone call on Busted Handle, do it soon (and change her name!).
