Domus, 2013 16h+ bay gelding

Very well bred, lightly raced, sound, and all the potential in the world for any new discipline!  We admired Domus’ uphill build, topline, clean legs, and kind intelligent eye.  Domus has won one of his six starts, but he is with a great barn that not only takes the best of care with their horses, but also believes in letting the horses who are not showing enough talent to win at the highest levels move on to new careers while they are still young, lightly raced, and sound. This commendable practice is definitely to your advantage, and presents a wonderful opportunity to get a great sport/jumping prospect at a very reasonable price. Domus was very well behaved for his photo session. One of our volunteers handled him for his jog video, and he showed beautiful movement with lightness and suspension. We also watched the video of his winning race, and observed a balanced fuid gallop. Domus’ trainer says he has no issues, is good to handle although he occasionally can be a bit grumpy in his stall — something that he feels will evaporate when Domus gets off the track and can enjoy turn out and a less stressful environment.  When our volunteer went into his stall to halter him and bring him out for his video, he was friendly and polite. Domus is by champion Gio Ponti, a rising young sire star who won on turf and dirt.  His dam is by Rahy, out of a Broad Brush mare, and she has two crosses of the Halo branch of the Hail to Reason/Turn -to line.
