Howay the Lads, 2014 17.1h dark bay gelding

Wowza, is this huge young horse stunning!  He is a beautiful mover, with a light spring and a rhythm to his gait that should hold up to the fanciest of warmbloods in the show hunter ring or dressage arena.  Unraced, his trainer says he is just too laid back and quiet to show much interest in racing, especially on the hard dirt surface at Finger Lakes.  His breeding is for racing long distances on the turf, and his trainer, who also rides him, says he is much happier galloping over the grass. Bodes well for cross-country!  She says he is absolutely lovely and easy to ride, with a soft mouth.  She describes him as a very sweet friendly horse who loves to cuddle and munch on carrot treats. With his huge warmblood build, flashy chrome, gorgeous movement, and quiet temperament , we think “Howie” is destined to be a show hunter star.  He is by Marsh Side, a son of Gone West out of a Pleasant Colony mare.  His dam is by Belong to Me, who is a Danzig son.  We recently placed another big gorgeous moving quiet young son of Marsh Side to a top show hunter barn, and they report that he is taking quite well to his new career.  Howay the Lads has been in race training at the track this year, so we expect that he would be RRP eligible. We expect a tremendous amount of interest in the spectacular horse, and the trainer requests “very serious inquiries only” please.
