Frost Giant fans, here is a big young son of that popular sport horse sire who is offered as a true end of the meet bargain.  He is currently in what we call “diamond in the rough” condition, but with some groceries and muscle conditioning  and TLC we think he will look quite handsome.  He has  good bone structure, a strong shoulder, an uphill build,  and his legs appeared clean. He also has a sweet kind expression, almost begging us to help him get to a better situation.  He was with a trainer in PA this summer who ran into some misfortune and had to disperse all his horses, and some, like Mr. McFrosty seemed to fall through the cracks. He wound up at Finger Lakes with a trainer who really hasn’t had the resources to improve his condition or fitness.  The handler who showed Mr. McFrosty to us, and who will be the contact person for the non-English speaking trainer, says that he is a kind horse with no vices.  Although he had to high step through the slush and snow for his jog video, Mr. McFrosty showed good movement with a big stride and reach.   Mr. McFrosty has three wins — 2 of them this year — in 17 starts.  His pedigree is ideal for sporting disciplines. His sire Frost Giant is a son of Giant’s Causeway and out of a Gone West mare. His dam is by Unbridled (a son of Fappiano) and out of a mare by Sadler’s Wells.  Giant’s Causeway, Blushing Groom, Gone West, Unbridled, Fappiano, Sadler’s Wells — all the most coveted sport horse sire lines are in this guy’s pedigree.
