What a gorgeous, big, classy, nice moving horse! Shannon’s Posse struck us as having great potential for many sport disciplines at top levels, from hunter/jumper to eventing or dressage. He has a beautiful balanced uphill build with an impressive shoulder, all of which suggests great jumping/sport potential. On the day we photographed him, Shannon’s Posse had just completed a very fast workout in preparation for an upcoming race, and by the time we got to his barn he had already been done up in standard post -workout poultice and wraps. The assistant trainer who handled him said he is very sound, has no issues, and swore that under the wraps one would see nice clean legs. She said that he is ready to find a new career because he is just not running well this year. She also said he is good to handle and has no vices. He certainly was a gentleman for his photo session, and only got mildly excited when horses turned out next to him started running just when he started to trot for his video. As he jogged for the video, we observed very nice movement, with a flowing flat kneed reach. Shannon’s Posse hits all the sweet spots of what so many people say they want: young, sound, big, beautiful, very nice mover, well mannered! So do not hesitate to call… horses that tick all these boxes tend to go fast!
