IDA DE NILE, 2021 15.2+h grey filly

Located at Finger Lakes Race Track, Farmington, NY

This very pretty young dappled grey filly has little interest in moving fast – as you can see in her jog video. But while this may be racing’s loss (she has yet to win in 13 starts), it will be jumping disciplines’ gain. Her trainer is sure that this well bred filly is going to be an excellent jumper; when she was a two year old she was turned out alone, wanted to get to the same pasture as her friends, and sailed over and easily cleared a 4 ft high fence in good form, with a blanket and leg straps on! Happily turned out with other horses, she has never jumped out of the paddock again – but imagine how much fun you can have channeling that natural jumping talent into a show horse career. With her pretty looks, sweet and laid back demeanor, and light toe flicking movement, we can see her excelling as a show hunter, but her trainer also says she prefers running on turf than on the hard dirt track, and that bodes well for eventing too. The trainer reports that Ida De Nile is sound, good to handle, and has no vices. Since she is only three, she will grow some more, and may top out close to 16h. She is very well bred, by Audible, a young son of the great Into MIschief, and her dam is by Pioneer of the NIle out of a Speightstown mare. Pinoeer of the NIle offspring are know to be excellent jumpers with good ammy friendly brains. Audible has Gulch close up in his pedigree, and offspring of Gulch and his sons and daughters tend to be superior jumpers. For her jog video, Ida De Nile wanted to trot very slowly on a long loose lead, but when she did move out she showed off lovely movement, with a light floaty spring to her step that elicited a spontaneous “wow” from our volunteer who was taking the video. This is a fancy young horse with top potential for a show horse career; that plus her grey beauty and her great pedigree should make her quite popular, so don’t hesitate to contact her trainer if you are interested.

SHE SPEAKS WELL, 2019, 16.1h, liver chestnut gelding

Located at Finger Lakes Racetrack, Farmington, NY (near Rochester)

She Speaks Well is another gorgeous liver chestnut with a shiny, dappled coat that is sure to catch anyone’s eye! This boy is reported to be as sweet and kind as he is good looking and has even been around his trainer’s kids! He is reported to have no vices and is easy to work with and around. He is reported to be sound and to have no previous injuries but is just too slow to continue racing. He is a straightforward ride with no funny business.

She Speaks Well was happy to be photographed and posed himself well. Despite being a bit usure of some banging around behind our group while someone was loading the trunk on their car, he stood quietly to be admired. He was a cute mover, with a flat kneed trot and politely jogged on a loose lead. His trainer could not say enough good things about this guy!

She Speaks Well is by Producer, a sire from England. He is out of a Smarty Jones mare who has been a sought after sire. QOROKWE, 2020, 17h, chestnut gelding

Located at Finger Lakes Racetrack, Farmington, NY (near Rochester)

When a horse’s trainer tells you that a horse is “literally perfect”, you take notice, and Qorokwe is definitely a horse that deserves attention! Q’s connections report that he has the “best personality” and is a pleasure to have in the barn. Q is reported to ship great, have no vices, and is just a “really cool guy”. He was very snuggly with the volunteers, laying his big noggin right against anyone who would let him.

Q doesn’t look like other horses- he has a sway back. His trainer reports, though, that they use a regular race saddle on him, that it never slips, and they don’t even use a breast collar with him. During his photo shoot, he happily posed showing off all of his other assets, and when one of our volunteers asked him to do a belly lift to show off what he will look like with a developed top line, his sway was greatly diminished. Q is reported to be otherwise sound and with no old injuries.

For his video, he demonstrated a walk with a natural over track and swing. His jog was cute and flat-kneed. Q showed off his excellent brain by not overreacting when a biker came through, but was happy to stop for a snack. Qorokwe is by Frank Conversation, who is a son of the coveted Quality Road, who is know for throwing babies with excellent brains. He is out of a Posse mare. Do not let a little difference steer you away from the otherwise gorgeous and full of character Qorokwe!

NOAH’S DESTINY, 2019, 16.3h, chestnut gelding

Located at Finger Lakes Racetrack, Farmington, NY (near Rochester)

If good looks and size are on your list, then you don’t want to miss Noah’s Destiny! But this guy isn’t just a pretty face, he’s also sweet and level-headed. Noah is reported to be a pleasure to have in the barn and has no vices. Noah is a homebred by his connections and they’ve had him his entire career. He’s great in turnout, with other horses, and he’s super easy on the farm!

Noah had knee chips removed when he was 2 but has raced sound ever since. He also started a little to have a little “roar” but was scoped and found to only have a partially paralyzed flap. HE doesn’t make noise all the time, just during extremely heavy work- you can’t even hear him during his races. He is reported to be very good to ride!

We placed Noah’s brother, Liam’s Majesty, a few years ago and he’s killing it in the eventing world. With the natural suspension Noah displayed during his jog video, we can see him following in his brother’s footsteps! But this big, sweet boy could excel in just about any arena! Noah’s Destiny is by Union Jackson, who is by Curlin. He’s out of a Regal Classic mare. Noah’s Destiny is sure to get you noticed, whatever direction you aim him!

LIONS MIRACLE MO, 2021, 16.1h, bay filly

Located at Finger Lakes Racetrack, Farmington, NY (near Rochester)

Lions Miracle Mo is a lightly raced young lady that is ready to move on to a slower paced life! Miracle’s connections state that she is just very slow and doesn’t want to race. She is reported to be very sweet and easy to work around with no vices. She is very lightly raced and is reported to be sound with no previous injuries. She had just raced a few days prior to when our volunteers met her, and Miracle was very laid back and happy to stand to be doted on. Under saddle, her connections state that she is very good to ride and can “collect and be relaxed”.

During her photo shoot, Miracle was happy to be posed and told she was pretty. She has a strong shoulder and is compact, but her connections feel she hasn’t quite grown into herself yet, so imagine what she will look like when she has! For her jog video, she showed off a light, floaty, toe-pointing trot, and despite feeling a little fresh after not doing anything since her race, she remained respectful of her handler.

FLUTE SONG, 2021 16.2h grey/roan filly

Located at Finger Lakes Race Track, Farmington NY (near Rochester)

If you are looking for a fancy young show horse or eventing prospect, then here she is! This gorgeous still growing grey filly is going to be even more stunning once she finishes growing and fills out – she is certainly a horse who will stand out in the show ring. With her lovely, light, floaty trot we can see her excelling in disciplines ranging from show hunters to dressage to eventing. She is sired by Cross Traffic, a son of Unbridled’s Song, and we know of several people who are focused on eventing horses who covet Cross Traffic offspring for their great minds, athleticism, movement, and jumping ability. Her connections affectionately call her “Tutti Frutti.” They report that she is a sweet filly, but can occasionally have a bit of a “mare tude.” She is reported to be sound and a laid back easy keeper on the farm over the winter, but she gets a bit nervous with the track atmosphere. She is ightly raced, with 8 starts and one win. But in the race after her win, she bled slightly, and since then she has not wanted to exert herself in races. Her handler told us that she was scoped after her most recent race, and scoped clean. For her jog video Flute Song showed off a slinky big walk, and a light lofty trot. She was a bit excited to be outside, since she had not done anything but walk the shedrow since her last race 4 days before we photographed her, but she was always respectful of her handler. Her pedigree is ideal for jumping disciplines. Through her sire Cross Traffic she has Unbridled’s Song, Caro, Stop the Music and Hail to Reason in her pedigree. Her dam Flutie is a granddaughter of Tapit and Empire Maker with Deputy Minister, Unbridled, and Seattle Slew lines.

MY LITTLE ONE, 2019 16h dk bay/black mare

Located at Finger Lakes Race Track, Farmington, NY (near Rochester)

We think that My Little One has eventing/jumping potential written all over her: this nearly all black beauty has great flowing big strided movement, an excellent sport horse pedigree, a get up and go attitude, and she is described as good to handle , the type of mare who is super clean in her stall, and a horse who makes friends easily in turn out. My Little One is a half-sister (out of the same dam) to March Madnez Party, who was one of our most popular listings last fall and is making great progress in his new sport horse career. Her handler described My Little One as “more high motor” than March (but keep in mind March was super mellow), but with a similar friendly demeanor. He says that My Little One is sweet natured but needs to trust and bond with her person for her loving nature to fully emerge. He says they got her as a two year old from a semi-feral “thrown in a pasture” situation in which she had been roughly handled, and he put a lot of time into her showing her that people can be good and putting a solid training foundation into her. She has responded by showing her true loving nature, but racing has not been her best game. She has yet to win in 29 starts, but she has enough in the money finishes to pay her way. Because of her rough start in her early days, he thinks she will do best in a quieter program with people who will spend time and attention with her. A big busy lesson barn where horses are given limited time to bond with a particular person would not be the best situation for her. For her jog video, when her handler started moving fast, My Little One responded in kind, showing off a huge ground covering trot with amazing reach and flat kneed movement. Then when we asked him to slow down My Little One agreeably slowed her pace as well. We admire dhow responsive she was to her handler. Her sire is Bellamy Road, who is from the Forty Niner sire line, and he has been a sire of durable, good brained horses who are willing, can jump, and have been successful in sporting endeavors ranging from hunters, eventing, jumping, foxhunting, and trails/hunter paces. Her dam, Atrous, is by Arch, from Roberto and Danzig lines, and her dam brings in Buckpasser and another Danzig cross. Arch offspring are known for their great brains and athletic ability, and the other sires in this female family are also noted sport horse sire lines.

RILEY BEE, 2020 16.2h bay gelding

Located At Finger Lakes Race Track, Farmington, NY (near Rochester)

This very handsome big young gelding is a friendly peppermint lover, as we can attest since we were cuddling with Riley Bee and giving him mints as his trainer brushed him off for his photo session. RIley Bee loved the attention, and had the most adorable persuasive “begging for more treats” routine! Riley Bee impressed us with his uphill balanced build, strong shoulder, dapples, and a good amount of heel on his feet. His trainer told us he is a very nice horse with no vices. Riley Bee was so patient and willing as our volunteer picked up his legs to move them slightly to position them just right for photos –he had a “whatever you want me to do” attitude. He jogged very politely for his video, displaying a nice big-strided walk, and a trot with good hind end engagement and higher knee action that suggests eventing/dressage/ jumping as his best outlets. Riley Bee has the pedigree for these disciplines, as well. His sire, Sharp Azteca, is by Freud, is who has been a deservedly popular sire in eventing and jumping disciplines. His dam is by Maclean’s Music, son of Distorted Humor out of an Unbridled’s Song mare – sire oines that are also known to produce good jumpers with good brains. Riley Bee has 28starts over his racing career, and while he has done well this year, with 2 wins, those wins mean he now must face tougher competition and racing conditions, where he has not fared as well. Rather than trying to overwinter him and bring him back next year, his trainer would like to find him a new career while he is young, sound, happy, and full of potential.

FIRST SONS, 2019 16.2+h grey gelding

Located at Finger Lakes Race Track, Farmington NY (near Rochester)

This gorgeous grey hunk is a laid back friendly horse and a lovely mover with a great sport horse pedigree. He is lightly raced, with one win earlier this year in his three starts. His owner passed away this spring, and all of his breeding stock was dispersed and the racing stable is also being trimmed of horses that are not going to be winners a the highest levels. Hence, First Sons is available to find a new career where he can excel. With his solid bodied good looks and movement, we can see that new career being in the show hunter ring, the dressage arena, or eventing. His trainer reports that First Sons is a quiet horse who is good to work with and has no vices. Since the decision was made to find him a non-racing career, he hasn’t been doing much in the way of track exercise for the past couple of months, yet he came out for his photos and jog video as chill as a cucumber. The trainer told us that he puts First Sons on the walking machine with his excitable young horses in order to babysit them and keep them calm. The trainer informed us that First Sons has had no injuries that he is aware of. We observed clean legs. First Sons jogged quietly on a loose lead and displayed a fluid floaty flat kneed trot with a low head set and good reach from his shoulders. He is sired by Cupid, who is a son of Tapit. His dam is by El Prado, who is a son of Sadler’s Wells. Since so many people love greys and everyone wants a big bodied young good moving gelding with a quiet temperament, we expect First Sons to be a popular offering, so don’t hesitate to get in touch with the contact person if you are seriously interested.

FORCE THE BLITZ, 2021, 16.2h, bay gelding

Located at Finger Lakes Racetrack, Farmington, NY (near Rochester)

If you’re looking for a thoroughbred stuck in a warmblood’s body, then look no farther than Force the Blitz! This big boned youngster could easily be confused as a heavier breed. Due to his size, he can get a bit heavy and requires a larger rider to keep him balanced. Because of this, his race connections feel it is better for him to find a job off the track.

Blitz is reported to have no stall vices, is easy to work around in the barn, and really likes attention. He is great for the farrier and vet, and already knows how to cross tie. He can be a little up at the track but does quite down on the farm. He is a big youngster, though, and while he doesn’t ever do anything mean, his connections feel he is best suited to a more experienced handler and rider. Blitz had a hairline fracture when he was purchased. It was so faint that it was difficult to see on the rads. He was given a year off and was X-rayed again, and it was all clear.

Force the Blitz is by Force the Pass, who is by Speightstown out of a Dynaformer mare. He is out of an Indian Charlie Mare. This pedigree would suggest that he should be very trainable and athletic. Blitz is unraced, but does have two published works making him RRP eligible for 2025 and 2026 if the rules remain the same. Here’s a big blank slate that is sure to get you noticed wherebever you go!

VICTORY BUILT, 2017 16+h bay gelding

Located at Finger Lakes Race Track, Farmington NY (near Rochester)

Wow what a handsome hunk of horse. Victory Built’s owner/trainer adores him and describes her beautiful boy as a very kind horse, with loads of personality. She claimed him at the end of the 2023 racing season because she had admired his personality and beauty and his excellent racing history. After bringing him back to the races this year, she noticed that his heart didn’t seem in it anymore and he wasn’t going to return to the racing successes of his past that had him winning at the top level NYRA circuit and racking up a 50% top three record in 50 starts with over $250,000 in earnings. His 2024 race makes him fully eligible for the 2025 or 26 RRP. She recently gelded Victory Built, but she told us that he never acted studdish when he was intact. She says that Victory Built is sound, but he does have old “ankle jewelry” (in non-track lingo, old set osselets) that he has raced on for a while and should not limit him for any new career. On the day we photographed him, he had not done much other than shedrow walking for a few weeks since she had decided to take him out of race training, so while he posed quietly and perfectly, he was understandably a bit full of himself for his jog video. Nonetheless, he still showed very nice movement, with a light and lofty trot, good hind end engagement, and reach from the shoulders. Based on his build, movement, and pedigree, we think he has excellent sport horse potential in many disciplines, ranging from dressage to eventing to H/J. He is sired by Big Brown, a sire well known for getting good jumpers and eventers, who is from the Danzig sire line. His dam is by Dixie Union who is by Dixieland Band. Broad Brush, Roberto, Damascus, and Northern Dancer are other top sport horse TB sires in his pedigree.

RYOCHI, 2021 15.2h grey/roan gelding

Located at Finger Lakes Race Track, Farmington, NY (near Rochester)

Ryochi is an adorable cuddlebug who wants to be anything but a racehorse. Somebody’s best friend and partner for horse shows and trail rides, and lots of treats, would be his choice. He is unraced, but he does have two published workouts this year, so he is RRP eligible. Ryochi was orphaned at birth, and his breeder literally brought him into his kitchen to bottle feed him until a nurse mare could be obtained. No wonder Ryochi loves people! The breeder gave him to a young man who is a groom at the track and likes to own a racehorse or two to dote on, to give him a chance to try to see if he could turn Ryochi into a racehorse. But he has been too busy to get Ryochi into consistent training, and the workouts he has had are slow. So he realizes that Ryochi will be better off with someone who has the time to put into him to find what he can most excel at. We were told that Ryochi is quiet enough that he can get ridden and worked one week, then he can sit doing nothing but going on the walking machine for a couple weeks, and then he comes out to be ridden again and goes right along sensibly and politely. Despite his laid back attitude, because Ryochi is a young horse with minimal training, he will be best suited for someone who is experienced at retraining young racehorses or someone who is working with a professional trainer. But we think that he has great potential to become a great horse for a kid or young adult. Ryochi is solid bodied, still has some growing to do since he is only 3, and he is sound with clean legs. For his jog video, he trotted along politely on a loose lead and showed off a very cute fluid toe pointing trot. On another day when we visited the track, we saw Ryochi by himself on the walking machine, happily and quietly walking along without a fuss. Ryochi is sired by Race Day, who is by Tapit out of a More Than Ready mare. His dam is from Danzig, Go For Gin, Damascus lines. There are lots of great sport horse sire lines in this pedigree; in addition to those already mentioned, there is Halo, In Reality, Pulpit, AP Indy, Unbridled’s Song, Fappiano.

PAJAMA JAM, 2019 16h+ dark bay mare

Located at Finger Lakes Race Track, Farmington, NY (near Rochester)

PJ, as her connections call her, is a stunning black beauty with a sport horse pedigree to drool over, and she has already been restarted by the owner/trainer’s teenage daughter with a good dressage oriented flatwork foundation, a couple of clinics and schooling shows, poles and cross-rails, and she has even been through a 2’3″ jump chute, showing willingness and good form. PJ had eight starts on the track in 2022 and 2023, with her best finish a third place. The trainer’s daughter was heading off to a college with a respected equestrian program in the fall of 2023, and since PJ was her favorite horse, and it wasn’t looking like racing was going to be her best game, PJ went to college too! Under the tutelage of the college program’s respected instructors, PJ and her teenage rider got a great restart flat work foundation. PJ was a quick learner, and showed excellent movement and dressage potential. The young woman who restarted PJ describes her as forward but willing and well behaved, and she said PJ has a lovely canter with a steady rhythm, but if you try to grab onto her mouth and hang on the reins she will get quick (a typical racehorse reaction). She also reports that PJ’s lead changes are so good that she started saying “switch your lead,” and she did! She rode PJ in flat classes in a college schooling show in blustery wet 40-degree weather and says that PJ was an angel. She has taken PJ on trail rides, and reports that PJ was good and didn’t look at much. She says that PJ is very friendly and loves attention. The college academic program did not prove to be a good fit for the trainer’s daughter, so she decided not to re-enroll for the current academic year. That meant she had to get a job that left her with no time or resources for a horse, and PJ went back to her track connections. PJ has been galloping on the training track, but it is obvious that the racetrack life is not for her. She is sound and her legs are clean except for a scar from when she was kicked as a youngster. PJ is by Central Banker, a son of Speightstown, and she is out of a Freud mare – great sport horse lines. PJ is a very good mover with a light and lofty step, and she has unlimited potential for many sport horse disciplines – we can see her eventing, jumping, or focusing on dressage. She presents a rare opportunity to get an athletic young TB with an excellent and patient restart foundation for less than the prices from some professional resellers, who usually do quick and minimal restarts.

GEORGE’S VICE, 2020 16h dark bay filly– placed through FLTAP

Located at Finger Lakes Race Track, Farmington NY (near Rochester)

This black beauty hardly takes after her name – her trainer told us she has no vices whatsoever, has a great disposition and is lovely to work with. We were told that she is a candy loving sweetheart who will crawl right into your pocket in search of the peppermint she knows must be there! She is a well-bred filly who sold for $155,000 as a yearling, but she hasn’t shown the racing talent of her stakes winning parents. Georgie came out of her last race in mid-September with some filling in her ankle, and while she has never been sore on it or off, her connections felt it best to let her find a new home and new career. The photos were taken three days after that race, and there was still some filling in her ankle, but it was cold and she trotted fine on it. Subsequently the trainer had a vet exam done and Georgie was sensitive to being palpated but flexed fine. The vet concluded that it’s a suspensory issue. No ultrasounds we’re done but you could do them as part of a PPE. With time off and a patient restart Georgie should be fine for any new career. She has a solid build that will hold up well with warmbloods in the show ring, and she showed very nice movement with a fluid and even toe pointing trot and good reach from her shoulders. Her sire is Unified, who is a son of Candy Ride. Candy Ride and his sons are turning out to be outstanding sires of horses who are beautiful jumpers and movers – indeed, two of the top three finishers in the recently concluded Take2 TB League show hunter championship finals were by Candy Ride or one of his sons. With this pedigree, movement and solid bodied huntery good looks, we think Georgie has potential for a show hunter career. Georgie might also make a lovely sport horse or racing broodmare. Her dam was a stakes winner sprinting on turf in Europe, and was stakes placed in the US, and she’s a black type producer. The second dam is also a stakes winner and producer, and the third dam was a grade I stakes winner and a European champion sprinter. In addition to Candy Ride in her sire line Georgie’s dam line includes notable sport horse sires such as Halo, Nureyev, and two crosses of Hail to Reason.

MARGARITA SUNRISE, 2014 16.1h bay gelding

Located at Finger Lakes Race Track, Farmington, NY (near Rochester)

Classy war horse alert– and Margarita Sunrise is one of the classiest, kindest, soundest, and best moving wise old warriors that we have had the pleasure of listing. We know there are many of you who treasure the horses that have been able to be successful and remain sound and happy over many years of racing, and who know that this means they are truly what everyone says they want in a horse: smart, classy, durable, great work ethic, sound, athletic, great balance, been there done that attitude, well mannered. Margarita Sunrise has raced 96 times, racking up 16 wins and 40 overall top three finishes, and $200,000 in earnings. And he still has some of the cleanest legs we have seen on the track. He came out of his barn with just a rope lead under his chin – no chains needed for this kind and wise soul. He posed like a star, and trotted off quietly on a loose lead and showed off lovely light floaty movement. His handler reports that he is absolutely lovely to ride. She said you just put your hands down and he floats, never tugging or acting up. She says he has no vices, has a very chill and laid back attitude, and is a joy to have in the barn. He has been turned out in a mixed her over the winters, and handles it like a gentleman. She reported that he is so easy to handle that she can even bring him in from turn out as part of a twosome, being led only by a rope. This is the kind of horse that will easily adjust to a new off the track life, and is not likely to fazed by whatever new experiences you present to him. Trust us – we see them all, and this is one super nice horse who is a beautiful mover. Do not pass him by just because he is older – you will regret it when he is bringing home the ribbons ahead of the flighty youngsters in his new career! He is sired by Wilburn who is a son of Bernardini. His dam is by Distorted Humor out of a Saint Ballado (Halo/Hail to Reason sire line) mare. People who follow TB pedigrees that succeed in jumping sport horse disciplines will truly appreciate this pedigree.

KINGDOM ON PAWS, 2019, 16.1h, chestnut gelding — retained by owner

Located at Finger Lakes Racetrack, Farmington, NY (near Rochester)

When a horse’s race connections describe a horse as “perfect” and “just a really cool dude”, you know you’re going to meet a nice one, and Kingdom on Paws is no exception! A friend of Paws’ trainer showed him to us and she told us that he was one she would love to keep and make a pony as he’s so easy-going and laid-back. Paws is reported to be easy to work around and with, and the only vice that his handler noticed is that very occasionally he would suck wind off his stall guard, but that had not been noticed in his other barn. Paws is reported to be sound with no past injuries, however, he does bleed during races. His handler did not believe this would be a problem in other disciplines. Because Paws is so great to work with, his handler does intend to throw some Western tack on him and see if he will pony. For his video, Paws displayed a natural over-track at the walk. Despite one little hop, Paws showed off his cool demeaner at the jog, with a flat-kneed, toe-pointy trot. Kingdom of Paws is by Animal Kingdom, who’s offspring are known for being very level-headed and athletic. He is out of a Bernardini mare, who’s sought after for movement and jumping ability, and has Tiznow lines as well. With his dappled, dashing good looks, and calm and cool demeaner, Paws is sure to make an excellent partner!

KEEN DANCER, 2019 15.3h bay mare

Located at Finger Lakes Race Track, Farmington, NY (near Rochester)

Our show hunter volunteer and a show hunter professional trainer who was accompanying us both really liked this mare, and we think that she is a diamond in the rough with great potential for a sport horse career. Keen Dancer was friendly, posed perfectly, seemed to enjoy our attention, and jogged politely showing off lovely light movement that should do well in the hunter ring, dressage arena, or dressage phase of eventing.  Her trainer says that she is good to handle, has no vices, is sound, and turns out well with others. She has a compact nicely balanced build, and her legs are clean.  She has a kind lovely eye that underscores a good temperament.  She has won 4 times in her 37 race career, with over $130,000 in earnings, including wins on the tough NYRA circuit, but in her races this year she hasn’t shown much interest anymore, so her trainer knows it is time to let her move on to a career that she will enjoy more and where she can shine. Her sire is Keen Ice, a son of Curlin, best known for beating American Pharoah in the Travers and for siring longshot Kentucky Derby winner Rich Strike. Her dam is by Malibu Moon out of a Thunder Gulch mare – great jumping lines!

ALLSON, 2021, 16.1h, grey filly

Located at Finger Lakes Racetrack, Farmington, NY (near Rochester)

Allson is an adorable young lady that is just not going to make it as a racehorse, but the racing world’s loss is the sport horse world’s gain! Allson is reported to be good in her stall, easy to work around, and is reported to have no vices.  Allson had knee surgery in her right front as a 2-year-old, was rehabbed, but does not have enough time to get fit for this season, so her owners would like to see her find another career path.  She also has a bump on her right hip that she got as a baby but has never impeded her ability. Allson is a straight-forward ride, with no buck or rear.  She was a little spicy for her video as she is young and hasn’t been doing much, but once she settled, she displayed a lovely lofty trot.  She remained respectful of her handler.  Off the track, we can see this movement developed for many different arenas! Allson is by Too Discreet, a Discreet Cat descendant with lines from Foresty and Marquestry.  She is out of an Imperialism mare, who is by Langfur, a stallion sought after in the Event world for his trainability and athleticism.  With Allson’s good looks and movement, she’s sure to catch just about any judge’s eye!

THE SAXON STORY, 2021, 15.3h, grey colt

Located at Finger Lakes Racetrack, Farmington, NY (near Rochester)

Yet another adorable colt that is ready to be a fantastic gelding! The Saxon Story is another young guy that does not realize he has not yet been gelded. He is reported to be fine around fillies and mares, easy to work around, and to have no vices. This laid-back guy was purchased as a 2 year old and was taken downstate but showed little talent there, running far back in his only race. He was given some time off to grow up, and was then brought to Finger Lakes, but is still just too slow to be competitive. He is reported to be sound with no prior injuries. Saxon stood very politely for his photo shoot. He was very calm and enjoyed the attention he received from our volunteers. He was happy to be posed and fawned over. He did get a little excited for his jog video but came down quickly and settled. He displayed a natural over track at the walk and some suspension at the jog. The Saxon Story is by Leofric, a son of Candy Ride. Candy Ride and his sire sones are making quite a mark in the H/J show world, and in eventing. They tend to be great jumpers and good movers. His dam is by Giant Surprise, a son of Giants Causeway, sought after by eventers for their talent in jumping and movement, and she also has Sadler’s Wells in her pedigree. While The Saxon Story is too slow to run, we are sure he will make a great show mount that is sure to get you noticed in any arena! Don’t let this young, lightly raced boy pass you by!

JITTER JUICE, 2018, 17h chestnut gelding – retained for racing

Located at Finger Lakes Racetrack, Farmington, NY (near Rochester)

Jitter Juice is the definition of a regal, classy, mature gelding. JJ is reported to have no vices, to be super easy in his stall, and to be very “chill”. He was so relaxed, our volunteers struggled to get photos of him without resting a hind foot! He was far more interested in trying to climb into his handler’s pocket, than have pictures taken. JJ is reported to be good to ride, straight forward, with no funny business. He is reported to be sound with no known injuries. He was a very successful allowance level horse last year. This year, while he has won and run second, his owner/trainer thiks it best not to bring him back next year and with the end of the meet approaching knows it is time to let JJ find a great new home. JJ is very chill. Our volunteers actually had to ask his handler to “go faster” in attempt to get him to stride out, rather than just go along at an easy-going jog. Jitter Juice is by Carpe Diem, who is a son of Giant’s Causeway, a preferred stallion for Eventers, known for movement and athleticism. He is out of an El Corredor mare, with lines from Mr. Greely and Seattle Slew. With a pedigree like this, it’s no surprise that Jitter Juice is a level-headed guy with the potential for lovely movement and jumping ability. This class act will reward you for giving him a great new life and career.

REDEMPTION ROAD, 2019, 16.3H+, bay gelding

Located at a farm near Finger Lakes Racetrack, Farmington, NY (near Rochester)

Redemption Road is the tall, dark, handsome, and super fancy moving gelding that everyone is looking for! This big, strong boy is a barn favorite that his connections couldn’t say enough good things about. He is reported to be very easy to work around and is very “sweet and kind”. Redemption Road enjoys his turnout time on the farm, and is good alone or in a herd. Redemption Road is reported to be a bit strong to ride, but never does anything wrong. He is just a young, big, powerful horse that enjoys having a job! His exercise riders affectionately call him “Dinosaur” as he towers above other horses. Because of his size and age, his connections feel that, at least at first, he would likely be a good fit for an experienced rider. He is reported to be sound with no prior injuries. Redemption Road’s pictures and video were taken at his connection’s farm during his first turn out. He happily stood to be admired, and his shiny coat was gleaming in the sun. His free trot video displayed loads of natural suspension, and a floating, flat kneed trot that is sure to get good marks in any discipline! Redemption Road is by Bellamy road, highly sought after for his natural good movement and trainability. He is out of a Saarland mare, with Unbridled lines. STORM THE EMPIRE, 2020, 16H, bay gelding – placed through FLTAP

Located at a farm near Finger Lakes Racetrack, Farmington, NY (near Rochester)

This gorgeous, classy and very well bred guy needs an angel! If you’re looking for an incredible deal on a nice horse, look no farther than Storm the Empire! Stormy is a young gelding, that when in consistent work, is a levelheaded guy who is good to ride and work around with no reported stable vices. His race connections reported that he had eight weeks off between initial breaking and then his first time to the track and he never put a foot wrong. He showed good racing ability, running second in two maiden special weight races. Then he had surgery for knee chips, was given time off, and then brought back into training this year. He has recently chipped again and is on stall rest. The vet has not recommended surgery again, but rather rest. He has been on stall rest since, for at least a month, but he will still need more time. X-rays are available for seriously interested parties. His connections feel Stormy would be better suited to a lower-level career.

Stormy’s photos and walk video were taken at the farm where he is currently on stall rest. There is only a walk video at this time. Stormy is feeling his oats currently, while being on stall rest, and his connections do not feel as though a jog video is in his best interest, but they have reported that he is a much easier going guy while in work or with turnout. Stormy is by Classic Empire, who is by the highly sought-after Pioneer of the Nile and Empire Maker lines. He is out of a stakes winning and producing Storm Cat mare from a top female family full of stakes winners. With time, Storm the Empire should prove to be a fantastic partner with loads of personality for just about any lower-level pursuit! You won’t want to miss this guy!

ROLLING PALISADES, 2017 16.2-3h bay gelding

Located at Finger Lakes Race Track, Farmington NY (near Rochester)

Looking for a handsome big gelding described by his doting owner as a “giant puppy dog”? Well then Rolling Palisades is your guy! His owner affectionatley calls him her “little munchkin,” and from the photos of them nose to nose snuggling you can see the mutual affection between her and her BIG munchkin. Rolling Palisades had a good career as a racehorse, with 37 starts, 7 wins, 5 seconds, and 4 thirds. Last year, he had a sesamoid injury, and it was completely rehabbed under vet guidance, with stall rest, and then reintroduction to walking, jogging, and increasing work. He is currently being ridden at the track by some of the “pony girls,” who report that he is a very nice horse who is good to ride. He has been ridden, including trotting and cantering, both English and Western, and seems equally amenable to both. His owner says he is a very laid back horse who is great to handle – she reports that she can clean his stall with him standing in it without being tied, and he respectfully moves away from where she needs to clean. Rolling Palisades is currently barefoot, and he jogged quietly with just a loose lead attached under his chin, showing a nice flowing walk and an even smooth trot. Despite his laid back demeanor, because he has limited retraining from racing, he would be best for someone with experience restarting OTTBs – but we think he will be a relatively uncomplicated restart. He will probably be best suited for lower level careers, but wow, what an awesome trail and pleasure horse he can be! His owner loves him dearly and wants him to go to a home that will not flip him and will keep her updated on him, and she will sell him with a buy back agreement if he does not work out. Rolling Palisades is by Palace, who is by City Zip, and on his sire side there are great sporting lines such as Blushing Groom and Relaunch/In Reality. His dam is by Yes It’s True, from the coveted Raja Baba branch of the Bold Ruler line, and she is out of mare from Wavering Monarch/Buckpasser lines. These are sire lines known for stoutness and durability and much loved in the sport horse world.

“CHARLIE” 2020 15.3h bay gelding

Located at Finger Lakes Race Track, Farmington NY (near Rochester)

Charlie may win the prize for the chillest puppy dog personality of any TB at the track! This adorable horse is unregistered, unnamed, and unraced because he was rescued from a neglect situation this past spring. His current owner has run into roadblocks trying to get him registered because the breeder never paid the stallion fee, so he has realized that since he cannot get Charlie to the races any time soon, it is best to let him find a great new non-racing home where his tremendous sport horse potential and wonderful personality will make him someone’s lifelong heart horse. The current owner has taken great care of Charlie, restored him to glowing health and happiness, and it is obvious that they adore each other. To show us how quiet and sensible Charlie is, he unlatched and removed the lead rope and Charlie just stood there for his photos, and then he started following his person just as if he were indeed a puppy dog. Charlie’s owner says that Charlie is a very smart horse who picks things up quickly, has no vices, and is truly a sweet kind horse who loves to cuddle with his people. He also told us that he lets him go out of the barn to graze without a lead rope and Charlie stays close to the barn and comes right to him when he goes to bring him in. Charlie is being ridden around the stable area and galloped on the training track, and he is so smart and sensible that they are using him to teach people how to gallop racehorses. He cannot have any recorded workouts since he is unregistered, so he is not RRP eligible. Charlie is very handsome, with a kind eye, cute blazed face, nicely balanced conformation with a strong shoulder and hind end, and clean legs that have no wear and tear on them. He showed a big swinging walk and a lofty ground covering fluid trot with great reach from the shoulders. His movement suggests great potential in dressage and eventing. HIs pedigree also suggests he will excel in sport horse disciplines. He is sired by Redesdale, who is by Speightstown out of a Danzig mare with Ribot and Buckpasser in her pedigree. Charlie’s dam is Loving Redemption, a daughter of Gone West out of a mare that has Northern Baby – a TB sire renowned as a jump sire – under her dam.

BUSHWICK BRUISER, 2019, 16.2h, bay gelding

Located at Finger Lakes Racetrack, Farmington, NY (near Rochester)

Bushwick Bruiser, better known as George around the barn, is a definite barn favorite! This sweet guy exudes class with his shiny dappled coat and quiet, pleasant demeanor. He has a solid bodied uphill build with a strong shoulder, all of which bode well for a sport horse career. His pedigree is also exceptional for eventing/jumping disciplines — he is by Union Rags out of a Tiznow mare. These are sire lines known for jumping ability, and the Union Rages/Dixieland Band line is also known for good ammy friendly temperaments. George is reported to have no vices and is a pleasure to work with. He can get a bit strong when he’s ridden but never offers any funny business. George has some ankle rounding but has been racing on them and is reported to be sound. He was a perfect gentleman for his jog video, and displayed even, balanced good movement. George is the whole package, don’t let this one pass you by.

CORAGESCONTENDER, 2017, 16.2h, bay gelding

Located at Finger Lakes Racetrack, Farmington, NY (near Rochester)

Coragescontender is that tall, bay, gelding with chrome everyone is looking for! You may remember when he was listed last year, fresh off of racing. Since, he has become a pony horse for her current connection, and while he’s lovely at the training track, he doesn’t love ponying on the main track, so his connections feel as though it is time to find him a better career. Corages is reported to have no stall vices, is easy to work around, and an overall good boy. He is reported to be lovely to ride and to have no past injuries. Despite only having him for a year, his current connections have helped work with him for much longer, so much of his history is known. Corages stood perfectly still for his photos, and allowed his handler to pose him exactly as she wanted. He jogged politely on a loose lead, despite getting a bit distracted in his second pass. He demonstrated a flat-kneed, toe pointing trot. He is reported to have just as lovely of gaits under saddle. Coragescontender is by Courageous Cat, who is proving to be a sire of excellent jumpers — we know of many succeeding in the hunter ring and in eventing. His dam is by Strong Contender, who is a son of Maria’s Mon, a coveted sport horse sire known for offspring with good brains, good movement who are very good jumpers. His dam also descends from the Fappiano line, another strong sport horse sire line. LOCKBOX, 2020, 15.2h, dark bay filly

Located at Finger Lakes Racetrack, Farmington, NY (near Rochester)

Lockbox, who is affectionately known as Peanut, is an absolute barn favorite! She is a playful, “cool chick” on the ground. She enjoys her people, especially once she trusts them. She has no stable vices, and is a joy to work around and groom. She is reported to be just as straightforward to ride.

Peanut does have knee chips that will require surgery. Her owner is requiring this as a condition of placement, so please bring your references if interested in this lovely girl. X-rays are available to seriously interested parties. After the surgery, she should not have limitations.

Peanut stood and posed perfectly for her photo shoot. She was happy to offer snuggles and snoot boops to our volunteers as they gushed over her. Because of her knee chips, we only asked Peanut to film at the walk. She showed a lovely natural over track at the walk. Her sire, Central Banker, is known for throwing babies with lofty, flowing movement, and if her walk is any indication, Peanut should live up to that. Peanut is out of a City Zip mare, who is a sought after sire for throwing very amateur friendly brains. Peanut is sure to make a fantastic partner!

TYRANNOSAURUS REX, 2019 16.1h bay gelding

Located at Finger Lakes Race Track, Farmington NY (near Rochester)

This adorable, and very sweet guy is nothing like his namesake – he is perhaps “CuddlesRex”, or “Sweetpuppydog Rex,” but certainly not the ferocious dino T-Rex. Rex is a kind, quiet, loving, friendly young TB who is just not cutting it as a racehorse but who has exciting potential for many other sport horse disciplines. He has 19 starts, with another entry this coming week, and no wins, But he keeps finishing in the money and grinding out just enough checks for his track connections to keep trying with him, since they say he is sound and happy to go to work. But they are looking ahead to the handwriting on the wall: Rex will not be eligible to race if he becomes a 6 yo maiden, and even if he somehow wins a race before the Finger Lakes race meet ends later this fall, then he will not be competitive in the next level of racing conditions. Rex’s talents clearly lie elsewhere than racing — with his solid bodied good looks, quiet laid back temperament, and beautiful movement, wow does he have the potential to excel as a show hunter or in other sport horse disciplines including dressage and eventing and jumping. On the day we photographed him we had two A-circuit show hunter riders/trainers with us, and they loved Rex! We were told that Rex is a sound, quiet, friendly horse who is good to handle and has no vices. We observed clean legs. He has a pedigree that shouts jumping sport horse potential. His sire is Temple City, a son of the great Dynaformer. Eventers covet both Dynaformer bloodlines, and Temple City’s offspring. Rex’s dam Five Star Royalty comes from Carson’s City/Blushing Groom/Cox’s Ridge/Secretariat lines…enough said. In addition to posing perfectly and cuddling with his handler, for his jog video Rex jogged quietly on a loose lead and showed beautiful flowing flat kneed movement with good reach from the shoulders that had the show hunter onlookers getting quite excited about him.

Rex is fully eligible for the 2025 RRP, and we would love to see him competing there!

REAL GOOD VYBZ, 2019, 16.2h, dark bay mare

Located at Finger Lakes Racetrack, Farmington, NY (near Rochester)

Real Good Vybz is giving off really good sport horse vibes! While our volunteers did not meet this lovely mare directly, her information comes from a trusted trainer/owner/reseller. Real Good Vibes is reported to be easy to work around with no vices. She is reported to be a non-sweater, but her trainer states that he gives her brewers yeast and that helps her to sweat. She is reported to be sound, and that there is “nothing wrong with her”.

This dappled beauty posed perfectly for her photo shoot, showing off her strong shoulder and nice neck connection. For her video, she jogged politely, demonstrating an easy-going personality and cute, toe-pointy trot.

Real Good Vybz is by We Miss Artie, who is by the sought-after Artie Schiller and has Fusaichi Pegasus on the bottom. She is out of a Hard Spun mare. This gorgeous young lady is the entire package, pretty, kind, and smart! One you definitely won’t want to miss out on!

Big Mountain, 2016, 17.1+h, bay gelding

Located at Finger Lakes Racetrack, Farmington, NY (near Rochester)

If you’re looking for a warmblood sized, puppy dog of an OTTB, then Big Mountain is your man! And boy is he ever a Big Mountain! Photos do not convey the size and build of this sweet boy! “Beamer” as he is affectionately called, was bred by his current connections and is out of one of their favorite mares! Beamer has no vices and is easy to be around in the barn. He has been turned out at the farm, enjoys his time, and is middle of the herd. Beamer is currently training to be a pony horse for the races, but his rider says he has the potential to be strong. While he never offers any funny business, his connections feel he would be best suited to an experienced rider. His only previous injury was an infection on his ankle from a dirty bandage. This was treated and rehabbed properly and is reported to not have been an issue since.

Beamer was absolutely perfect for his photo shoot, happy to model for his admirers. He showed off his flowing, floaty jog for us on a loose lead behind his handler. A professional eventer was with us and she thought he would be a great eventing prospect, but Big Mountain is sure to get you noticed in any arena

Big Mountain is by Big Brown, a highly sought-after stud for his babies’ trainability and athleticism. He is out of his connections’ mare, Wild in Montana, who was as “sweet as they come”, and her babies certainly seem to follow suit, considering the 3 that we’ve listed. Don’t miss out on this big, sweet guy.

Yes he is, and here he is… And offered at a bargain price to add to the attractive package! This well put together son of Bellamy Road –who is known for producing great brained athletic sport horses – has not been racing as successfully this year as he did last year, so his trainer realizes it is time to let Uncle Miltie move on to a new career. He is described as sound, his legs are clean, and he has unlimited potential for any new discipline. Uncle Miltie’s groom and handler told us that he is a very quiet and well mannered horse with no vices. Uncle Miltie backed up that assessment for his photo shoot, when he stood quietly and did whatever his handler asked. He has a lovely kind eye and a bright intelligent look about him. For his jog video Uncle Miltie showed off good flat kneed even movement at the trot, and he politely did as his handler asked. Uncle Miltie has three wins in 20 starts, and he is fully eligible for the 2025 RRP. This is a solid quality horse offered at a bargain price, so act fasts if you are interested because nice young geldings like this usually get snapped up quickly.

SKY MATRIX, 2020 17+h bay gelding

Located at Finger Lakes Race Track, Farmington NY (near Rochester)

If you are looking for a huge, gorgeous, young unraced sport horse prospect, then look no further than the stunning Sky Matrix. His photos do not do him justice – you must see him in person to fully appreciate how gorgeous he is! He has a very thick and solid bodied build with massive bone that will fit right in with warmbloods in the show ring. Sky Matrix had a prior sesamoid injury that was fully rehabbed and he started galloping and breezing on the track this year — his most recent published workout is September 8. Although he’s handling the speed workouts well and staying sound, his trainer thinks that he is too big to hold up to the rigors of racing at a hard speed-oriented track like Finger Lakes. The trainer would prefer to find him a new career. Because Sky Matrix has published workouts this year he is fully eligible for the 2025 RRP. Both the trainer and Sky’s groom told us that Sky is a well-behaved gentleman, has no vices, and is good to handle and nice to ride. He is a very good mover, with powerful engagement from behind, loft to his step, and reach from his shoulders. Sky has potential for any discipline, and we know of many horses who had similar prior injuries and are successfully competing in eventing, jumping, dressage and other disciplines. He is sired by Sky Mesa, a son of Pulpit from the A.P. Indy sire line, who is a favorite sire for sport horse people. Sky Mesa offspring are known for good brains and jumping ability. Sky Matrix’s dam, Bedside Manner, is a stakes winning and stakes producing daughter of Dr. Blum who is sired by the great Dr. Fager. It is rare to see Dr. Fager/Rough and Tumble lines this close in TB pedigrees today, but those who follow pedigrees known for durability and sport horse aptitude love these lines.

TRADITION JAMES, 2019 16h bay gelding

Located on owner’s farm in Medina NY

Tradition James, known as “Tad,” is described by his trainer as an “awesome” horse, a sweet and kind people loving “ham” who has a “great personality.”  We could see that in the obvious loving connection that the horse had with the trainer’s young son, who showed him for his photos and jogged him for his video. How many race-fit horses at the track can be handled with such a polite attitude by a kid? James is a homebred for his owner, and didn’t start race training until last year.  After just two undistinguished races, it was discovered that he had a knee chip, and it was surgically removed.  Tad went back into training this year, but after his last timed workout he came back slightly sore on the knee, so his trainer had x-rays done.  They showed mild arthritis in the knee, and the vet said he could keep racing. But, considering that Tad had never shown much racing aptitude, and considering his great kid-friendly personality, his owner and trainer decided that it was best to find him a new home to pursue a lower level career.  For his jog video, once he decided that he had to move faster despite the high heat and humidity,  Tad showed a nice even and fluid trot, jogging soundly.  if you are looking for a horse to be your best buddy, to have fun with at lower level activities that can include smaller jumps, you should bring Tad into your family. After all, we know that those “plain brown wrapper” horses can be true gems. Since he has timed workouts this year and raced last year, Tad is fully eligible for the 2025 RRP, and we think that with his friendly and willing personality he could be an awesome prospect for the competitive trail division, with a freestyle for added interest. He is sired by Master James, who is a son of Bertrando from the Relaunch sire line, and is out of a mare from a great female family that has produced many star race horses.  Tad’s dam is by Aptitude, a son of the great AP Indy.

CALL ME CARMELITA, 2018 15.3h dark bay mare

Located at Finger Lakes Race Track, Farmington, NY (near Rochester)

The beautiful Carmelita glows with dappled good health, a testament to the loving care she gets from her owner/trainer.  She is solid bodied, and will take up a lot of leg, so those of you who think you need a tall horse should still give this athletic and great moving mare a serious look. Her build and her great movement suggest some serious sport horse potential here! For her jog video, the mare displayed an impressive ground covering light and lofty trot with a flowing reach, that had both the H/J rider and the eventer who were with us that day quite impressed. Carmelita has compact balanced conformation with a big strong hind engine, a strong shoulder, and a deep heart girth. Her build suggests jumping and galloping over cross country ability, so eventers take note!  Her trainer says that Carmelita would make a great jumper or eventer, and we agree. She reports that Carmelita is sound, clean legged, and has no vices, is good in her stall and good to handle. But she also has “a lot of go,” and energy and loves to work – this makes her best suited for an experienced rider.  Those traits, too, will translate well to eventing and jumping.  She thinks that Carmelita will settle nicely once she has some down time from the track. Carmelita has won 4 races with many other in the money finishes in her 44 race career, but this year she isn’t showing the same interest in racing, so her owner/trainer knows it is best to let her find a new career.  Carmelita is sired by It’smyluckyday, who is a son of Langfuhr from the Danzig line.  We know several people who have had Langfuhr offspring and they report that they have terrific work ethics, durability, stamina, and jumping ability. Her dam has Stormy Atlantic, Halo, Gone West, Blushing Groom, and Roberto in her pedigree – all great sporting horse lines.

PLAYFUL PRINCE, 2022, 14.3H, bay colt

Located at Finger Lakes Racetrack, Farmington, NY (near Rochester)

Playful Prince is his race connection’s “pride and joy”.  This young guy, affectionately named “Gut,” has many talents, but racing is not one of them.  He is unraced, but does have published works, so he is RRP eligible. While he may not have actually gotten to run against other horses, he has allowed his owner to sword fight off of him, pony his youngest brother, ride bareback in the snow, and check social media while lying on his back.  Gut’s connections sometimes let him loose back side to graze while his stall is getting cleaned.  This is definitely a horse that has had some quality desensitization training!

Gut is reported to be wonderful to ride and work around, and overall just a pleasure to have around. He is not happy in the track enviroment, and can stall walk, which makes it hard to keep weight on him. Off the track over the winters this was never an issue. For his jog video, our volunteers had to clap and cluck at him to get him to jog, but when he did, we were all in awe! Not only is he quiet and sensible for a 2 year old, but he also has a cute, toe-pointing trot.  This adorable guy will happily go in any direction, as long as he can take his time getting there!

Gut is by Practical Joke, who has Into Mischief and Distorted Humor lines, both sought after for their levelheaded babies who excel in many sporting careers.  He is out of a Munnings mare who has Speightstown lines.  You won’t want to miss out on this young guy who is ready to go into any arena!

N Y Riesling, 2020, 16h, chestnut gelding

Located at Finger Lakes Racetrack, Farmington, NY (near Rochester)

If you’re looking for an “in your pocket lover-boy”, then N Y Riesling is the one for you! Everyone in the barn had nothing but glowing things to say about Vino, as one of his grooms calls him.  He is reported to be one of the sweetest horses in the barn, has no vices, and loves to be groomed.  He can be a bit up at the track, but is a perfect gentleman at the farm, and has been turned out in groups. Vino is reported to be sound with no prior injuries.  He is reported to be a bit strong to ride, but never does anything wrong. For his jog video he was very respectful of his handler and very well behaved on a cool, blustery day.  He demonstrated a natural over track at the walk and a cute jog with plenty of push from behind.  With Vino’s flashy chrome and cute way of going he’s sure to be a hit in any arena!

N Y Riesling is by Redesdale, who is by Speightstown, a sire highly sought after for their good brains and athleticism.  He is out of an AP Indy mare, who is also sought after for the same! Vino is a good-looking, sweet guy ready to be someone’s next show partner!

HARDLY WORKING, 2018, 16+h, dark bay gelding

Located at Finger Lakes Racetrack, Farmington, NY (near Rochester)

Hardly Working is working hard to find his way into your heart! This guy’s owner is also his race trainer, and she could not say enough things about him She has ridden him herself around the farm in the off season, even using him to help train the babes.  She said he’s as level-headed and amateur friendly as they come.  She reports that he is a pleasure to have on the farm, is very sweet, and easy to do just about everything with.  He also greatly enjoys his “dunk bucket” for his hay.  This spoiled guy exudes personality He definitely enjoyed the attention and adoration he received from our volunteers! While Hardly Working’s race connection absolutely adores him, she states that his conditions are tough this year and he is just not winning.  She says he loves to work, but isn’t a sprinter and “doesn’t have the air to run long”.  When he is fit, he does not make any noise, but may have a slight roar when galloping if unfit.  While it may be a slight issue at the track, she feels it shouldn’t impede his ability off the track.

Hardly Working demonstrated how well he already uses himself when he moves.  He demonstrated a natural over track at the walk and a toe-pointy, floaty jog.  Hardly Working’s pedigree boasts an amateur’s dream horse! He is by Outwork, who is by Uncle Mo and out of an Empire Maker mare.  He is out of a More Than Ready mare.  With bloodlines like these it is no surprise that Hardly Working is handsome, smart, and easy to train!

Knight jogged politely for his handler, but would’ve much rather stopped to get more scratches from our volunteers. Knight of the Crown is by Ocean Knight, who is by the great Curlin. ALL BIZZ, 2019 16.3H bay mare

Located at Finger Lakes Racetrack, Farmington, NY (Near Rochester)

ALL BIZZ,  2019 , 16.3h bay mare

Located at Finger Lakes Racetrack, Farmington, NY (Near Rochester)

If you’re looking for a gorgeous big young mare with upper-level sport horse potential, then you’re in business with All Bizz.  We listed All Bizz last year, but then she won her next three races in a row righ tup to then end of the racing season at Finger Lakes!  That racing success shows athleticism and heart, but at that time,  it also enticed her owner to keep her over the winter to try finding similar racing success this year.  But, perhaps after enjoying her winter on the farm, All Bizz has not shown as much enthusiasm for racing this season, and her connections feel it is now definitely time to let her move on to another job. That is good news for the sport horse disciplines, since we see unlimited potential  based on her pedigree and movement for eventing, as well as hunter/jumper disciplines.  All Bizz’s trainer reports that she’s a bit “up” at the track, but that she is very quiet on the farm, and she does not have a mean bone in her body. They report that she is sound with no vices and no prior injuries.   All Bizz has dazzling dapples,   baeutiful feminine head with striking markings, a regal demeanor, and an uphill build with a strong shoujlder that should help her succeed in many disciplines.  She displayed a lofty, floaty trot in her jog video,  despite missing a hind shoe. All Bizz is by Fed Biz, who is by Giants Causeway, a sire known for throwing athletic babies with incredible movement. Fed Biz is out of a mare from the Wild Again/Icecapade sire line, another line known for good jumpers.  Both Fed Biz and Giant’s Causeway are very popular sires in eventing disciplines, and we also know of several horses from this sire ine that are top show hunters and jumpers.  All Bizz’s dam is by Golden Missile, a son of AP Indy, and she also has Stop the Music/Hail to Reason, Danzig, and Cozzene lines.  Here is a lovely, large, beautiful prospect ready for a top-level new sport horse career!

REUNION TOUR, 2018, 16.1h, chestnut gelding

When Reunion Tour’s owner and track connection brought him out to show our volunteers, her son asked, “why are you selling the best one?”. Our volunteers agreed that “Artie” is, indeed, deserving of this praise! This laid-back guy wowed volunteers with his excellent manners and stunning, dappled coat.  He stood quietly on a cool, breezy morning with the hustle and bustle of the track going on around him.  His owner stated that he is “perfect”, never puts a foot wrong, and that her 5-year-old son leads him around with just a loose lead.  We got to see this firsthand as another horse got loose off the walker nearby and Artie stood calmly with one of our volunteers. It is reported the Artie has no known injuries and his legs appeared tight and cold.  Artie is as straightforward to ride as he is to handle.  Artie’s only vice is that he cannot be stabled alone.  He does not get herd bound but gets nervous when he can’t see others in the barn with him.  For this reason, his owner does not want him to go to a home where he would be the only horse on property. Both our hunter and dressage volunteers drooled over Artie’s toe-pointed, light, and lofty jog.  He also displayed a natural over track at the walk.  Paired with his flashy good looks, and easy-going manner, there isn’t any arena this guy won’t succeed in! Artie is by Super Saver, who is by Maria’s Mon with an AP Indy on the top and is out of a Distorted Humor mare.  These lines are often sought after for their amateur friendly brains, trainability, and athleticism.  Don’t let this barn favorite pass you by!

CENTRAL STATION, 2020, 16.1h, bay gelding

If a young, sound gelding with loads of personality is what you are looking for, then look no farther than Central Station!  This young guy is described by his connections as a “giant ham”, and he certainly ate up the attention of our volunteer during his listing.  This guy is reported to have no vices, is good to work around, and is very good in turnout alone or with others.  He is reported to be super easy on the farm, off the track. Central Station is also reported to be good to ride, with no funny business, but he can be a “bit of a scaredy cat”, so his new owner should be prepared to desensitize him a bit.  But even when something new makes him nervous, he is still a perfect gentleman.  He is reported to be sound, and is just too slow to compete in his new conditions. During a cool, breezy, rainy day, he stood perfectly for his photo shoot and jogged politely.  He demonstrated a natural over track at the walk, and a floaty, lofty jog.  With movement and presence like his, he is sure to get you noticed in any arena! Central Station is by Central Banker, who is sought after for his movement and excellent brain! CASTLECOVE SPIRIT, 2021, 16.1h+, dark bay colt

They say a good colt will make a great gelding, and we feel that will hold true for Castlecove Spirit.  while he has been fine at the track stabled next to fillies, where there is a solid cement wall in between stalls, over the winter at a farm where he could see into the next stall, he was trying to get into the filly neighbor’s stall. In winter turnout he also did not play well with others, so until he is gelded and given a few months for the testosterone to leave his system and his brain, individual turnout would be best, and then a gradual introduction to a gelding group.  He is reported to be easy to work around in his stall, with no vices.  You can often find him laying down sleeping in his stall! Castle’s race connections state that he can be a bit of a forward ride, and a bit of a handful while at the track, but he hasn’t offered a buck or rear.  His trainer feels he could benefit from some time off as he hasn’t been off the track since before his 2-year-old year.  He is reported to be sound with no injuries.

Castle was a little wiggly for his photo session but was perfectly happy to allow our volunteers to help pose him, especially with the assistance of a peppermint.  While the breezy day distracted Castle a little during his jog video, he remained respectful of his handler and displayed a good over track at the walk and good reach at the trot.

Castlecove Spirit’s pedigree is packed full of notable names desired in the sport horse world. He is by World of Trouble , who is by Kantharos, a Lion Heart baby.  He is out a Shanghai Bobby mare, with Harlan Holiday and Tiznow lines.  With a pedigree like this, it is likely Castlecove Spirit will have loads of personality and should be quite athletic.  This guy sure has it all, good lucks, a great personality, and fantastic bloodlines! Don’t let this fancy guy pass you by!

WAR SMOKE, 2018 16+h dark bay gelding

This very handsome black beauty has the uphill build and pedigree to make a great sport horse, and he’s a beautiful mover too! He was described to us as a “very good boy” who’s good to work with, nice to ride, and who moves “like a show hunter’s dream.”  But with the loft, hind end engagement, and shoulder reach of his movement, we think he could also be an eventer’s or dressage rider’s dream.  War Smoke is lightly raced, with only 9 starts. While he raced successfully at allowance levels last year, this year he has dropped to lower level claiming races and isn’t showing his past interest. But he can certainly excel in many new disciplines. He is sired by War Dancer, who is by super sire War Front from the Danzig sire line. His dam is by Holy Bull, a sire much coveted by people looking for good jumpers and movers with sensible brains. Other top sport horse sire lines in his pedigree include With Approval, Caro, Buckpasser, and Fappiano. You won’t find a much better sport horse pedigree than this one! He is fully RRP eligible, is the perfect mature age to restart for a new discipline, and is offered at an enticing bargain price.

TOWERING GAZE, 2017, 15.3h, liver chestnut mare

Towering Gaze is sure to get you noticed with her gleaming, dappled liver chestnut coat! This “princess” as she is described is as sweet and easy to work around as she is pretty.  She is reported to have no vices and is easy to work around in the barn.  On a cool, windy day, she walked into the barn with the lead rope just tossed over her handler’s shoulder.  She’s reported to be just as easy going on the farm. She stood perfectly for her photo shoot despite the weather and the traffic on the road.  She is reported to be just as good to ride.  Towering Gaze did have a screw placed in her ankle this winter.  She was given ample time off and appropriate rehab, but when she came back to work, the rider didn’t love the way she felt on the track so it was decided she should go on to find her next career.  She currently does not have any limitations.

Her trainer had pulled her shoes when our volunteers were out to meet her, so a previously taken video was sent of her. She was just a bit up in the video from not doing anything other than walking, but she still remained completely respectful of her handler.  Towering Gaze is by Gio Ponti who is by Tale of the Cat, known for their athleticism and loads of personality.  She is out of a Sky Mesa mare.  Don’t miss this sweet, gorgeous girl as she is sure to get you noticed in any arena!

LUCKY BANKER, 2020 16h chestnut gelding

Do you like horses with amazing suspension at the trot who show great dressage potential? Do you like chunky TBs that look like Quarter Horses (reminding us that QHs have lots of TB blood)?  Do you like playful and friendly young geldings with lots of personality?  Do you appreciate how great Speightstown and Bernardini bloodlines are for sport horses? Then stop up for Lucky Banker!  Lucky Banker has had only three races, all in the month of July of this year.  In his last race at the end of July he showed early speed and then stopped running in the homestretch while bearing in and out. This prompted his conscientious trainer to have him thoroughly checked out by their vet, and Lucky Banker has what we were told is a 30% tear in his left front tendon.  The vet says his prognosis is very good; we were told that the vet said he can go on to do almost any discipline, including jumping and eventing – the only discipline the vet did not recommend is barrel racing. He does not need stall rest, he can be turned out, but the vet recommends that you give him some time to grow up and fully heal before putting him into regular work. SInce he is a young 4 yo right off the track, you would want to give him some turn out time before putting him into retraining anyway – keep him fully eligible for the 2025 RRP by giving him some down time and then starting him up in December. They are happy to put you in contact with the vet who did the ultrasounds and evaluation to answer your questions.  Lucky Banker’s handler (the trainer’s daughter who is also the contact person) says he is a playful and slightly mouthy young horse, without a mean bone in his body, who loves people giving him attention. We saw this firsthand as Lucky nuzzled at her outstretched hand, appreciating the attention. ON the day we photographed him, it had been a week since his last race and in that time he had just walked the shedrow, so he was happy to be outside to jog, with his tail up like a flag as he looked at horses on the nearby racetrack.  Although he was feeling good, he was very respectful of his handler, and while she could not let him tort out fully, he displayed an amazing collected trot with jaw dropping suspension that had us thinking of upper-level dressage movements. Lucky Banker is sired by Central Banker, a son of Speightstown from the Gone West sire line, who is know for siring athletic and good brained ammy friendly horses who are enjoying new careers in many sporting disciplines. Lucky Banker’s dam, Lucky Sunset, is by the great Bernardini, an AP Indy son whose offspring are sought out by eventers and dressage riders.  Lucky Sunset is from a great female family that has produced many top racehorses, so there is great quality in this pedigree.  This handsome guy offers great potential to the right patient person who can just give him a bit of time before restarting him for his new career.

Don Bernardo, 2019, 16.1h dark bay horse

Don Bernardo is his trainer’s favorite and we can absolutely see why! “Nardo” is a goofy guy with loads of personality, but is also sweet and oh-so-gorgeous!  Nardo has been with his current connections on and off since he was 2, but they’ve kept track of him the entire time.  He is intact, but has no “colt behaviors”, does not react to mares, and has been turned out.  He is reported to have no vices and no previous injuries. Despite less than ideal weather conditions, Nardo let us stand him up for photos in the shedrow.  He allowed his trainer to move him and pose him as if he were a Pony Club horse.  He soaked up the attention- and peppermints- from our volunteers.  We admired his glossy near-black coat and his large shoulder and neck.  Despite having not done much lately, and the wind and rain, Nardo jogged politely on a loose lead.  He showed off his natural overtrack at the walk and floating, flowing jog.  Nardo’s movement is as eye-catching as his good-looks and is sure to get you noticed in any arena! Don Bernardo is by Competitive Edge, who has Super Saver and Cape Town lines, both known for athleticism and level headed, amateur friendly brains.  He is out of a Sky Mesa mare.  Do not miss this trainer favorite!

Sassy Tallahassee, 2019, 16.2h, bay mare

While her name may be Sassy, our volunteers found Sassy Tallahassee to be far more sweet! This dapple-covered lady is reported to be easy to ride and work around, has no reported stable vices, and usually doesn’t offer any sass.  She enjoyed her time with our volunteers while they photographed her and admired her good looks! According to her connections, Sassy did have a slab fracture in her knee when she was 2, that has screws in it, but she has raced on it ever since without issue.  For her jog video, Sassy showed off her natural suspension and loft at the jog.  With her good looks, movement and conformation, we can see Sassy excelling in just about any discipline! Sassy Tallahassee is by A Shin Forward, who has Forest Wildcat and Storm Cat lines. Storm Cat is sought after for his loads of personality and athleticism.  She by out of a Silver Deputy mare.  Don’t let this gorgeous, less sassy/more sweet girl pass you by!
