This nice dark bay girl impressed us with her lovely movement and correct conformation. At the jog she showed even, floaty movement with suspension and cadence that really caught our eye. Her trainer says she is well behaved, and good to work with.  She is also described as sound.  But, she needs to find a new career other than racing because in a recent workout she experienced “exercised induced pulmonary hemorrhage”, known as “bleeding,”  and her trainer does not want to push her to race anymore even with Lasix. Once off the track, in less strenuous endeavors and with turnout, “bleeders” rarely have any problems. While a new career that involves intense bursts of speed such as polo or barrels might not be ideal for her, we can see Lexsoya making a lovely dressage or show hunter prospect or pleasure and trail horse. Her pedigree is promising for sport: she is an Unbridled’s Song granddaughter from the Fappiano sire line with In Reality close up on her sire’s side. Her dam comes from the Gone West and Cox’s Ridge lines, so all indications are that she will adapt well to a non-racing discipline.

Here is a great opportunity to have a truly spectacular, young filly!  Here Comes Jane is currently with a great trainer known for having quality horses.  Unfortunately, Jane sustained a knee injury and needs 3-6 months off.  The vet reports that after time off , she could be brought back into work and return to any type of riding without restriction.  With her young age (DOB April 21, 2016), it’s not likely she would be doing any intense training or jumping until she finished growing, so her knee can heal while the rest of her grows! We admired her correct, conformation.  She has a stocky build that will take up the leg of a taller rider.  Her trainer reports she has no vices and is sweet to work with.  Jane was very quiet during his photo shoot and video, never putting a foot out of place.  She showed good reach at the walk without any signs of lameness.  The trainer had X-rays taken which would be made available to seriously interested parties.  They will also grant permission for the buyer to speak with the vet about her rehab needs.

When the on-track connections tell you that they are ready to part with a favorite, it’s generally because of a sweet disposition or a can-do heart. Winning Pal is that, and more. He is described as laid-back, kind, and an all-around good citizen. As his handler stood him up for  pictures and discussed the reasons for stopping on him early in the season, he happily obliged on a day that was bitterly cold and windy.. Seeing that he was freshly clipped, we worried that he might be eager to get back in the barn but we were told that absolutely nothing fazes this gentle gelding.

We admired his nicely put together, big-barrelled frame and his super clean legs, that, along with his heart, has enabled him to amass a whopping 32 in-the-money finishes out of 40 starts. That’s a racehorse! He was claimed last year and claimed back from his current connections for more money  than they initially lost him for. That’s testament to a good horse, on or off the track.

Between the end of the meet last year and now, Pal has developed two paralyzed flaps. He is getting prednisone and we were informed that it has significantly improved his breathing. He did not make any noise while jogging for us. For that reason he will not be suitable for vigorous activity such as eventing or foxhunting. He’d make a terrific trail or walk/trot mount and could accommodate a larger rider. Activities that potentially place more stress on him would need to be discussed with his on-track veterinarian and/or trainer.

A good home is a must and references will be checked.
