And what a pretty princess she is indeed! This striking dark beauty with a big blaze is lightly raced and sound, and letting her connections know that she just doesn’t want to be a racehorse.  With her lovely balanced and uphill build, strong sloping shoulder, and lofty movement, we can see her excelling in the show hunter ring or dressage arena.  Since she is only three, she is likely to grow some more, and may well top out at 16.1 to 16.2h.  We thought she was quite beautiful now, but imagine how stunning she will be when filled out and with new muscling.  Our admiration of her good looks turned to true excitement at her sport potential when we watched her jog for her video. This lovely girl is described as an absolute sweetheart, and she also has a big heart and great work ethic.  She has been a successful racehorse, with 4 wins, 5 seconds, and 3 thirds in her 15 starts.  She recently won three races in a row, which means she must now face tougher race conditions at a level where her trainer does not think she will be as competitive. If you are looking for big, gorgeous, uphill build, solid bone, and beautiful movement, then pick up the phone… this stunning horse will not last long! Nothing But Power has been a good consistent race horse, with 7 wins in 27 starts, a long distance runner with lots of stamina, which bodes well for sporting disciplines. At the end of the racing season last year, he developed a slight strain in a tendon, so his trainer wants to move him on to a new career while he is sound.  The tendon, which never bowed, has been fully rehabbed, and we felt his legs and can report that they were cold and tight.  He is described as sound and ready to go in any discipline without known limitations.  When he jogged for his video, we saw floaty, light balanced movement, with suspension, cadence, and a toe pointing reach.  This suggests he could excel as a show hunter or in dressage.  He is described as quiet, very good to handle, with no vices or bad habits… an all around great horse. Update: As of July 27, 2015, Lupicaia has been moved into the Finger Lakes TB Adoption Program’s Purple Haze Center, located on the grounds of the Finger Lakes Race Track in Farmington, NY. She is available for adoption through FLTAP to approved homes with references, and under the FLTAP adoption contract.

Affectionately named Lucy by her doting trainer, this very pretty, well balanced and still growing girl has earned a slew of superlatives from her owner/trainer with the notable exception of “great racehorse”! She has endorsements from her riders as a wonderful horse to gallop with easy lead changes and a willingness to please. She is a classic morning glory with great morning training success which doesn’t transition to racing. After tweaking equipment, riders and raceday routine, Lucy”s trainer has decided that she is better suited to other disciplines.

In the morning sun Lucy was quiet and sweet. She loves attention from people in her barn and was noted to be an agreeable filly, just an all-around good egg. She has a very nice shoulder and clean, sound legs and a gleaming, true liver chestnut coat.

She turns out well with others and is very happy hanging out with the herd at the trainer’s farm.

This cute filly came to her current connections over the winter in need of a few more pounds.  Her current trainer has worked hard to improve her weight and overall “shine”.  She reports Allercata has made significant improvements but feels she has a bit more to go.   Allercata is described as very sound, but  in only 8 starts, she has proven that she has no interest in racing.  We think her heart is in a different discipline!  It is reported that Allertata has no vices.  Her trainer states she can make some mean faces in her stall and has her occasional 3 year old green moments, but she is overall a sweetheart who will make someone a great partner in her second career.  We saw tight, clean legs and a beautiful coat.  Her beautiful build will be even more obvious with a few extra pounds.   Her trainer reports that Allertata enjoys time at the farm and is well behaved in turnout.  She was even popped over a few cavalettis this winter!  Even after racing yesterday, she showed a nice jog without any indication of soreness which is common post race.  Three year old horses are highly sought after on our listings, so call quickly if you are looking for a well built, sound, and young filly.

 Don’t let her name fool you– there is not an ounce of hellion in this beautiful young mare. This clean legged, sound and well balanced mare has been a good race horse, with 5 wins in 21 starts. Her trainer says she could keep racing, but her owner needs to cut back, so that will be the gain of someone looking for an athlete who can excel in many new careers! She has balanced conformatoin, clean legs, and her solid body will take up plenty of leg but her feminine head will draw the crowd’s attention in the show ring. What a black beauty! Her freshly washed coat gleamed in the sun as Miss Katts posed for us.  The trainer’s daughter reports that Miss Katts is a sweet loveable girl, very well behaved both on the track and off, and that she is sound with no vices. She says the filly is just letting them know that she is not interested in racing anymore, but that’s your gain since we see so much potential for many disciplines in this lovely young horse.  With her uphill build, good shoulder, and nice suspension and reach at the trot, we can see her excelling in eventing or in H/J ring.  She also has a good pedigree for sport disciplines, since she is a granddaughter of Devil His Due. Miss Katts is at a farm very close to the Finger Lakes Race Track, where she has also spent the last two winters, and the farm owner also raved about what a nice horse, lovely to work with, Miss Katts is. We got to see her good nature for ourselves, since as we asked her to pose, the horse flies were tormenting her, two young horses turned out next to here were romping, and two kids on a noisy 4 wheeler ATV were playing  nearby.  But Miss Katts took it all in stride, and did her best to stand for photos and jog quietly for her video.
