She was clearly trusting of her handlers, eager to please, and hopeful to earn herself a prized peppermint candy on this Christmas Eve Eve. Her connections insist that she would be best suited for an intermediate or someone with ample experience with OTTBs. While she can be excitable, she looks to her handler for confidence and direction– someone who can kindly teach her confidence in her new career will find this filly to have incredible heart and potential. She is described as clean legged and sound, but she does weave slightly when excited in the racetrack environment. Her keenly aware connections believe that with turnout and a new environment, this would likely dissipate. Six starts on the racetrack this year gave her connections ample opportunity to see that this filly’s heart is best suited for a discipline outside of racing and are giving her the chance to move on while she still has unlimited potential. Cutie patootie alert!  “Trouble” really does have an adorable face.  He is flashy and is sure to stand out wherever he goes.  He is relatively lightly raced with only 13 starts a few years ago. He is reported to have retired sound and clean legged to his trainers farm in November 2015. Since then he has been enjoying the farm life and is used to daily turnout.  His owner reports he is typically very quiet and good to handle in his stall and in turnout and that he has no stall vices.  He was a bit excited because of his friends running in the nearby pastures during our photo shoot.  He showed nice movement at his jog video despite the mud and hilly jogging terrain.  Because he has been hanging out at the farm, he will need to go to an experienced home familiar with restarting horses.  He is a great bargain for someone looking for a big, sound, nice moving gelding!

Handsome handsome handsome!  New York Tough or “Toughie” as he is lovingly called has been a successful race horse earning over $195,000 in 64 starts with a whopping 21 firsts, 14 seconds, and 9 thirds-WOW!  That alone shows what a hardworking horse with a big heart he is!  Toughie is described as incredibly sweet and quiet-possibly the sweetest horse his trainer has ever worked with, which is a wonderful endorsement!  His trainer feels he would be a good prospect for someone looking to get into the world of OTTBs for the first time (but still has horse experience) or for a junior/amateur rider working with a trainer.  Toughie popped a splint early in 2017 and was sent to a hunter/jumper barn in the Rochester, NY area to rest and rehab.  He is now reported to be totally healed and sound and without any limitations.  Although he could be brought back to race, his owner has decided they would like to see him move on to a second career.  He has been lightly started under saddle (but is still RRP 2018 eligible) in an indoor arena.  The rider at the stable reports he was quiet to ride, not spooky, and just an overall “good boy”.  They report he has excellent manners and is easy to  clip, groom, and handle on the ground.  He stood quietly for clipping.  Toughie is very loved by his owner and references will be required to ensure he goes to a good home. This boy is just spectacular!  We know there are lots of war horse lovers out there and this one is especially lovely.  Sortano has been a great race horse earning over $295,000 in his 75 starts with 15 wins, 10 seconds, and 15 thirds-WOW!  Surely this boy is just about as durable, hardworking, and kind hearted as they come.  Sortano is described as just a kind, sweet boy.  His handler (who is also his exercise rider) told us they feel he would be a good horse for someone wanting to get into the OTTB world, even a junior or amateur rider working with a professional, because of what a quiet demeanor he has.  She reports he is easy to handle on the ground and to ride.  This is often true of the war horses, they have “been there done that” and nothing fazes them! Sortano is beautifully built and we can see him excelling in just about any sporting discipline.  It was reported that Sortano is retiring clean legged and sound.  He has some very mild, superficial swelling from some surface cuts on his left hind ankle that he got a couple weeks ago. This flashy boy will turn heads wherever he goes!  Fidelius has been a good racehorse earning over $74,000 in his 28 starts with 6 wins, 4 seconds, and 2 thirds.  He dropped down to less competitive conditions this last year and is letting his connections know that he is done with the is whole racing thing, so they would like to retire him to a discipline where he is more successful.  Fidelius is his exercise rider’s (who is also the contact person) favorite horse and the very best home is a must for him.  She reports that Fidelius is her favorite to ride.  She reports he is intelligent and level headed when ridden at the track.  She also reports that Fidelius really bonds to his “person”.  Fidelius can be territorial in his stall and will require an experienced handler to get him started off the track.  We think some turnout time will greatly help him transition to off track life, which is very true of most race horses!  He does not crib, weave, stall walk, etc.  He is reported to be retiring sound and clean legged.  We think he could really turn heads in the hunter ring, but surely with his athletic ability he would go far in any sporting discipline.   This boy is sure to impress anyone who meets him.  He is a fabulous prospect for RRP 2018!  Fidelius is by Pure Prize out of a Not For Love mare.  Contact person will require references to ensure a perfect fit for horse and new owner!
