This big, solidly built horse really is a filly. AKA Princess, her trainer says she’s ready to retire from the track. She says she is very nice to ride, handle and loves attention . Update: his owner has decided to keep him for now.  Never raced and slower than a glacier, this guy is gorgeous. His trainer says this pretty boy is sweet, kind and has been ridden on the trails at home! We see potential for a great hunter jumper. He was a little off  from an abscess that was still healing but showed us his nice pointy toed movement. All this and he’s a three year old who might continue to grow a little more.

Valentine’s trainer says she isn’t interested in racing and has had only one start. AKA Peanut, she is looking for her own person to love. This lightly raced big and friendly guy melted our heart with his sweet face and soft and lovely eye. He nickered at us as we approached his stall, and he enjoyed having his face stroked. He is lightly raced, and has shown no racing ability at all, so his trainer wants to find him a new career. He said he is sound, has no vices at all, and is easy going and nice to handle. Good boned, with a big sloping shoulder, we can see great sport potential here. Just imagine how handsome he will be when he fills out, gains weight, and has his feet trimmed. This very pretty girl was so quiet and well behaved for such a youngster. She still has a lot of growing and developing to do, and just needs someone who will give her some time before starting her retraining. Elegant and full of personality and heart, this horse is a favorite of his owner/trainer, who has had him for five years. Pegasus Smile has won 9 races for him, and he feels it is time to find him the great new home such a fine and successful horse deserves. He said he has had occasional past soreness on his left ankle, and x-rays showed that there is “thin joint space,” which led the vets to recommend light jumping rather than the most strenuous sports. This big, gorgeous, sound and solid bodied flashy young guy is a sport horse waiting to happen. He is unraced because his trainer said that while he loves to train, is completely sound, and has a wonderful willing attitude, he is just too slow to be a racehorse. She also said he loves people, loves other animals, loves treats – mints, carrots, peaches, bananas are all just fine by him. This pretty bay filly impressed us with her alertness and lovely expression. She is well put together and certainly should get noticed in the show ring. Her trainer described her as sound and fine to work with, but said in this hot summer she was coming into season occasionally which was taking her mind off racing. She certainly seemed sensible to us, handling trying modeling conditions – intense heat and humidity with wind gusts, lots of bugs, and tempting green grass under her feet – with grace. She showed some initial promise as a race horse, winning her first race this spring at Aqueduct, but since that maiden victory she has shown no further interest in racing. Her trainer does not want to push her to do something she isn’t interested in, when she shows so much promise for other careers. Flashy with chrome! This beautiful filly’s copper coat gleamed in the sun, showing off her beautiful condition. She stood quietly for her photos despite broiling sun and flies. This very pretty blaze faced bay is described by his trainer as a good natured and very sensible horse who is very nice to work around. He had just raced the day before his photo session, and he was a bit sore on his knee due to the hard track this very hot and dry summer. His trainer and groom both said he becomes sound within a couple of days after a race, and has never been on the vet list. We felt his knee and legs, and there was no obvious swelling or heat. His legs look nice and clean. With some time to rest from the rigors of racing, he should be fine for many uses. With his good size, good looks, and his lovely soft and intelligent eye, he should be someone’s loyal best friend and all around pleasure horse.

This guy really impressed us with his great conformation, flashy good looks and huge over stride. He loved posing for his pictures.
