This snuggly guy has done decently in his racing career, hitting the board in 6 of his 20 starts, but his trainer is ready to see him successful in a new career.  His trainer has taken excellent care of him, which is evident in his coat and weight, but she has a new busy job off the track which is forcing a reduction in the herd size.   He is described as “in your pocket” and snuggly, and he certainly demonstrated that demeanor for our volunteer on the backside this evening. He wanted to climb right into our pockets-and we gladly would have let him! He is extremely quiet and even spent some of his down time this past winter on a farm in the Carolinas where he was trail ridden for pleasure.  His petite stature and laid back personality don’t limit his potential! He has very correct conformation and looks as if he will be quite stocky after filling out.  His legs are clean.  Betty’s Boy is a very nice mover who is said to already know how to move off a rider’s leg and go into a frame!  He showed beautiful reach and suspension in his ground covering trot.  He will turn heads in any new discipline!  His trainer reports he has no bad habits or vices.  She also does his galloping and reports he is always well behaved, sensible, and businesslike.  We think this gorgeous cuddlebug will go quickly, so we would suggest contacting his trainer Molly quickly.

No one could tell this girl to her face that she “doesn’t really matter!!” We couldn’t resist this mare’s pretty head and kind eye-we commented on it the second we walked into the shedrow!!  Her trainer recently took a new job outside of the horse world, which is the only reason this girl will soon be ready for a new career.  She seemed to enjoy basking in the sun on this gorgeous day.  Dosntreallymatter stood very quietly for her photo shoot despite the pony horse meandering loose in the background and an enthusiastic bike rider in the background.  Her trainer, who also gallops her, says she is wonderful to ride and work around.  She is quiet, sensible and has no vices.  She is very lightly raced and her trainer reports she has always been sound.  Her trainer reported she is starting to fill out-we think she will end up being a very stout girl!  Dosntreallymatter has a very small splint on her right front which is hard, cold, and has never bothered her.  This girl could go in any direction-but we could really see her cleaning up in the hunters!  Her age, height, and personality make her a hot commodity with shoppers looking for OTTBs, so we’d suggest calling quickly.

Located at a farm very close to the Finger Lakes Race Track in Farmington, NY (near Rochester, NY). This big, correct, beautiful gelding has been on the sidelines after his last race with a hairline fracture of his cannon bone. When we looked at his pedigree, we noted that he is the second horse we listed today sired by Line of David, and both are big, correct chestnut boys. Line Move will need to be rehabbed for about six months and then, according to his vet, he will be fine for any discipline. His x-rays are available for viewing and his connections can provide any information you need..

This flashy and friendly grandson of the great Triple Crown winner Affirmed is described by his groom and the assistant trainer as an all around good guy — great to work with, well mannered to handle, very nice and respectful  to ride, friendly and people oriented, very good on the farm in turn out with other horses.  He has knee chips, and has raced well with them for a while — he has had 50% on the board finishes in 29 starts.  But recently, they have caught up with him, and the high speed of racing and race training is no longer recommended for him.  On the day we photographed him, he had been handwalking for ten days since his last workout on April 30, so he was feeling good. But he jogged politely, and showed nice movement.  While jumping careers would not be recommended for him (unless the knee chips could be surgically removed), many new careers involving flat work would be suitable — pleasure, trails, etc.  The assistant trainer says that he is kind and sensible enough to be suitable for a child or young rider under the supervision of a trainer.  Please give the handsome and loving young horse a chance at a good new career and post racing life in a loving home.

The groom raved about what a kind, wonderful horse this stunning mare is — and when a horse becomes the favorite of a groom in a big racing stable, you know it is indeed a great horse to be around.  “She’s a peach,” the groom kept saying as we took down Joshan’s listing information. We admired the mare’s beautiful and  solid balanced build and caramel dark coat, with the dapples just about to emerge.  Joshan’s Giant also showed lovely fluid light movement for her jog video, with a low head carriage that seems ideal for the show hunters or for western pleasure.  Joshan’s Giant is ready to move on to a new non-racing career, because after hanging out at the farm over the winter (where, we were told, she was great in turn out with other horses), she is letting them know that she just doesn’t want to run anymore. She is getting stressed in the paddock before races, although during morning training rides she is fine.  An experienced rider is recommended for her, to help her settle and learn her new job.  She is described as sound on old osselets, and wonderful to handle and work around on the ground.
She has a terrific pedigree for sport and jumping. She is by Giant’s Causeway’s son Frost Giant, out of a mare by Damascus’s son Ogygian.  She also has good broodmare potential, since Frost Giant is a leading NY sire, and her dam has produced a stakes winner, and her second dam is a graded stakes winner, and her third dam is also a stakes winner.
Because of her balanced build and fluid long stride, Joshan’s Giant appears bigger than she is, and we think she will “ride big” — just like the mighty little horse who finished third at Rolex this year. So do not let her smaller wither height deter you from giving this gorgeous young mare with huge potential a serious look.

This big handsome guy has such a kind eye, and we admired his uphill build and strong shoulder.  His trainer says Shelby is a nice horse, good to handle, no vices, and sound. He says he would make an excellent riding horse.  Shelby was a perfect gentleman for his photo session.  For his jog video, we could see that he has a slight sting halt in his left hind, which showed up when he was turned, and then he trotted right out of it and moved well.  His trainer says this is just the way he is, and that he races just fine with it. Shelby has ten in the money finishes in 31 starts. Shelby will be able to do just fine in many new careers, and he is very bargain priced for such a big, good looking young gelding, so please give him a chance to have the great life he deserves!  Shelby has a great pedigree for sport. His sire, Artie Schiller is a son of El Prado and a grandson of the great Sadler’s Wells.  He is out of a mare by Yes It’s true, from the Raja Baba line of Bold Ruler, with Danzig on the dam side.  There is no Mr. Prospector or Storm Cat blood in this handsome young horse’s pedigree.
