Majestic Jessica is absolutely stunning and must be seen in person to truly appreciate.  She has beautiful dapples to compliment her correct conformation and has lots of flashy white that is sure to turn heads wherever she goes.  She was quiet and polite during her photo shoot and jogged respectfully on a loose lead.  She has been a very successful racehorse earning over $209,000 in her 27 starts with 5 wins, 1 second, and 4 thirds.  Unfortunately, she is no longer as competitive as she once was, so her connections are ready to move her onto a second career.  They report she is sound without any leg injuries.  She does make some noise when racing.  This may not be an evident in careers less strenuous than racing and we did not hear it during her jog video. This sweet, quiet and pretty girl is a bit of a challenge to place because she has an unsoundness issue that may make her a light pleasure horse only. She is also a good broodmare prospect, since she is by the excellent young sire Majesticperfection, a son of Harlan’s Holiday, and her second dam is a stakes winner, and her third dam is a stakes winner and multiple stakes producer. She raced 6 times with 1 win, 1 second and 1 third but she sustained knee chips that required surgery. Her connections thought enough about her potential that she was taken to surgery but an unfortunate incident during the surgery has finished her racing career. She is well loved and tended to and loves to be in turnout with others on the farm. Her connections are very interested in finding her an appropriate off track home and are transparent in all aspects of her medical history and prognosis. Her handler describes her as territorial in her stall at the track but personable in all other environments. She was sweet and composed when we did her interview and all the volunteers are hopeful that she finds a soft landing with a loving home.

Tall, dark, and oh so handsome!  This beefy two year old gelding had our volunteers drooling. He is currently unnamed, but he is by Violence out of Northern Vacation by Yankee Victor, so his connections have nicknamed him Violence as well.  His trainer reports he has shown absolutely no racing talent while in training, so they are ready to move him along to somewhere he will be more successful. He was very friendly with our volunteers and seemed to enjoy attention.  His trainer reports he has a great personality who she absolutely loves.  He stood very politely while being hosed off prior to his photo shoot.  We were very impressed with his manners!  To top off his good manners, he impressed us with his huge, floating stride.  At only two years old, Violence has quite a bit of growing to do.  He will end up being a huge guy!!  He is sound with clean legs and is reported to have no stable vices.  Take this lovely two year old home, let him finish growing, and train him your way-it will be worth it!

Tall, dark, and beautifully dappled!  This big filly is absolutely gorgeous and had our volunteers oohing and ahhing.  At only 3 years old, she still has quite a bit of growing to do, but is already quite a tank!  Her trainer reports that she is a sweet girl who is good to handle.  She recently irritated her suspensory.  It is not torn, but she needs about a month off before returning to work.  She should then be fine for any discipline.  This is perfect timing, since she is young and could use some time to finish growing and filling out (imagine how huge she will be)! Aggi a nicely bred mare by the Ken and Sarah Ramsey owned sire Catienus, has earned warhorse status after 31 in-the-money finishes out of 80 starts. Purchased as a yearling by her current connections, she has been with them for eight of her nine years and they are rather fond of her (she is also named for the late family matriarch). Aggi is still being raced and has remained sound throughout her career, which has been campaigned entirely at Finger Lakes. We’re pretty sure she could find her way to the paddock and back to her barn without a groom! Aggi’s last win was on 6/23/15 and her heart just isn’t in the game anymore. We think this seasoned racemare deserves a retirement in a discipline that will take advantage of her heart and durability. She has many years of useful service and fun ahead of her!

Another fancy moving bargain!  O’Bannon has been lovingly cared for by the same owner since he was a yearling.  His connections had nothing but nice things to say about him and it was obvious that the resident barn children were also in love with him, wanting to give him lots of peppermints!    His trainer reports that O’Bannon Boy races best on the turf or polytrack surface, which is not available at Finger Lakes.  They’d like to see him move on to a second career where he can be more successful.   She reports that O’Bannon Boy is very easy to live with and has absolutely no vices.  He also poops in one spot in his stall!  He loads and trailers like a pro and turns out well with others.  She reports he is also very well behaved for the vet and blacksmith and is overall “a good egg”.  We admired his nice uphill build with a beautiful natural topline.  We can see him really succeeding in any sporting discipline.  His trainer reports he is sound, which is what we saw in his jog video.  O’Bannon Boy is at a farm about 15 minutes away from the racetrack, so it’s important to make an appointment in order to see him.  He is by Utopia out of a Personal Flag mare.
