Set the Trappe, 2013, 16+h bay gelding

This gorgeous well built gelding has been a good racehorse earning over $120,000 in his 24 starts with 5 wins, 3 seconds, and 3 thirds.  It is clear he is an athlete with a good heart and brain!  His trainer reports that on the ground he acts more like a pony than a racehorse and that he is very level headed, intelligent, and respectful of his handler.  Someone saw quality in him at a young age as he sold for $300,000 as a yearling! Wow!  As you can see from his pictures, Set the Trappe has an enucleation procedure (eye removal) as a youngster.  His trainer reports this does not impact him at all and he is not at all spooky or nervous on that side on the ground or when being ridden.  We have seen many one eyed horses go on to lead very competitive lives in a variety of disciplines!  We also thinks it adds character.  Set the Trappe sustained a suspensory injury a while ago which was appropriately treated with rest, shockwave treatments, etc.  His trainer could give you more information.  He was brought back to training but they just do not feel it will hold up to racing.  They feel he would benefit from some turnout before transitioning to a new career.  Trainer can provide information from the vet and ultrasounds.  This is a quality, classy horse at a bargain price!   He is by Trappe Shot out of a Broad Brush mare.
