Bambisfrostyracer, 2011 16.3h chestnut gelding

Wow, what a gorgeous hunk of eye candy — and another son of Frost Giant!  Bambisfrostyracer sold for $75,000 as a 2 year old, and he has earned his keep as a racer, winning from Belmont to Aqueduct to Finger Lakes, racking up 8 wins, 6 places, and 7 thirds with over $165,000 in earnings.  But his trainer knows it is time to let him move on to a new career at the end of this Finger Lakes racing season while he is still sound and has so much potential for so many new careers. The trainer says that Bambi is very good to ride and to handle, and that he has no bad habits or vices.  She says he is sound, and we observed clean legs.  With his big build, strong boned good conformation, and outstanding sport horse pedigree, we think this big guy is a great prospect for eventing, jumping, or dressage.  Although he was “up” from the freezing windy conditions on the day we photographed him, Bambi responded well to his handler and showed hints of very fancy movement.  To better assess his movement, we watched some videos of his many winning races, and we observed a lovely fluid and balanced gallop with a big trot with great reach  — underscoring our assessment of great sport horse potential.  He is by Frost Giant, who is by Giant’s Causeway out of a Gone West mare — the ideal sport horse pedigree!  We have placed many Frost Giant offspring, and they are succeeding in eventing, jumping, dressage, you name it! And everyone who has a Frost Giant says they want more.  His dam is by Is It True, who is a son of Raja Baba, another sire line greatly sought after in the sport horse world.  Bambisfrostyracer is a full brother to Giant Expectations, who just ran in the Breeder’s Cup, and is a multiple graded stakes winner of over a million dollars. So you know there is quality and heart in this pedigree.
