Candy Blu, 2015 15h bay filly

Described by her handler as a very sound and  good girl to work with, this pretty petite filly showed off a very cute, light on her feet trot for her jog video. She wasn’t thrilled with all the snow on the ground — something she had never experienced before, since she was bred in Florida and started her racing career there. Although shivering, she behaved well for her handler, all the while surely hoping that someone who lives in a warmer place will come buy her! With her size, light quickness, and with two crosses of Storm Cat in her pedigree , we think she should appeal to polo players. But she can go in any direction you want.  She has one win in 14 starts, and she is a pure sprinter who doesn’t want to race much farther than a half mile. Since there are very few races at her preferred short distances, her trainer has decided to let her move on to a new career.  She has a great shoulder and a good topline. While she will grow some more, she is not likely to get much bigger than 15.2 or 3 hands.  So for those of you who prefer a smaller horse, this pretty young girl is for you.  She is by Sidney’s Candy, a son of the great Candy Ride. Her dam is by Bluegrass Cat, and is a sister to three graded stakes horses, so there is also broodmare potential here, including for the increasingly popular crosses of TB mares with welsh pony stallions for the pony hunters.
