Joansburntbiscuit, 2016, gray/roan filly, 16.2 h

Located at Finger Lakes Race Track, Farmington, NY (near Rochester, NY). Waiting for a big, sound, young gray girl? If you said ‘yes’, then this is definitely the filly for you! We loved her large, expressive eyes and her lovely dish face appearance. Beautifully proportioned, when we stood next to her, we were surprised at how tall she actually is! And at only 3, she’s likely to grow and fill out a bit more. We were told that she is good to work around, that she ships and loads well, and that she has no stable vices. She was a cooperative model during her photos. She is close coupled, with a long, sloping shoulder and is also nicely deep through the heart girth and back. She’ll take up a lot of leg of taller riders! Like many girls, she has collected a little (track) jewelry- in her case, an osslet on her RF ankle; but we were told that she has successfully raced on it and that it has not ever bothered her. For her video, she was a little ‘up’, having only walked in the past week or so since her last race (and in weather conditions that were making all the horses a little ‘happy’). She jogged soundly, moving freely, and displaying a flashier action and movement. She has only 11 lifetime starts with 2 wins and 2 thirds, and earnings of just under $30,000. Her connections feel that she is not earning enough in her current conditions and have opted to move her along to a new career. And she has the sports-chops pedigree for just about anything! She is by The Lumber Guy, by Grand Slam (by the popular sport sire Gone West), also with Unbridled and Buckpasser influences on her sire’s side. She’s out of a Cox’s Ridge mare with Secretariat in her dam’s lineage. Grays are always popular listings on FLF so if you are a gray filly lover, don’t delay. You don’t want to be burned by missing out on this one!
