When a trainer introduces a horse by saying, “One of the best horses I’ve ever worked with”, you know you’re about to see something special. This sweet and quiet mare was absolutely adorable! She was a favorite who everyone in our group jumped in to love on. We loved her baby face and unique markings. She’s a well-balanced mare, solid and compact, with a long shoulder, wide chest and deep body. We observed clean looking legs and solid bone. She jogged on a loose lead, relaxed and easy, with cute, fluid movement even though she was missing her RH shoe. We’re told this little mare has a great work ethic, “loves training” and has great heart. This is evidenced by her race record; 48 starts, a 14-6-5 record and $168,564 in earnings. She raced consistently without break until she was claimed by her current owners last year. Unfortunately, after downtime where she had tie back surgery and battled subsequent complications for abscesses on her epiglottis, she has not returned to her winning form. We’re told that she does still make noise and has difficulty breathing with any hard galloping. (Her contact can further discuss specifics and limitations with serious buyers). While this may exclude her from racing and several disciplines; her great attitude, sweet & quiet nature, and athletic build will allow her to flourish in a long second career at others. Her trainer believes that with proper training, her quiet nature could transition her to a kid’s horse. We think she’d make a great trail or pleasure mount too- for anyone in the family! Splash is by Portabello Road out of a Jump Start mare. Many well known sport sires pepper her pedigree- Storm Cat and Blushing Groom on her site’s side; AP Indy, Storm Cat, Secretariat, Deputy Minister and Buckpasser on her dam’s side. Want to make a splash with this sweet, lovely mare? Tick tock. The race meet ends at the end the week.
