Bellelarama, 2014, 16.1hand, bay, mare

Hello, gorgeous! This very solid bodied and sweet filly was “cool as a cucumber” on the cold, windy day! She stood perfectly while she was photographed and jogged politely next to her recently injured groom, who unfortunately could not step out as much as she wanted to!. Even though her handler could not step out, Bellelarama showed very good movement with some lightness and suspension. Bellelarama is reported to be sound with no injuries and no vices, and we observed clean legs. Her trainer reports that she just is not showing enough racing talent to bring her back to racing next year. She jogged soundly with no hind shoes (which had just been removed for an upcoming race at Woodbine on their synthetic track). Her trainer says she’s an easy keeper, and we could certainly see that with her good bone substance. She is an excellent choice for a taller rider that needs a thicker horse to fill out their leg. In her stall, she greeted us with ears forward and enjoyed being petted and adored. She stood very quietly untied while her groom took off her blanket and groomed her, which he said is her typical demeanor. Bellelarama is by Girolamo, a son of AP Indy, and her dam Boca Belle is by Silver Deputy, who is a son of Deputy MInister; her second dam is from Danzig and Damascus sire lines.
