Berb’s Monarchy 2013 16.1 h bay gelding

Wow, what a morning for regally bred geldings with “Berb”, a shedrow favorite whose handler adores this horse and would add him to her stable if she wasn’t already bursting at the seams with her herd. His trainer describes him as an absolute doll who anyone can get on and get along with him. She further states that absolutely nothing gets under his skin and he has no reaction to the things that other racehorses might blow up over. This morning he was a bit up when we asked for a jog but his trainer explains that they stopped training him two weeks ago and he had a bit of pent up energy. We also blame the brisk and blustery weather for his exuberant jog, hence the lip chain. Berb is sired by Leroidesanimaux who was a multiple graded stakes winner and winner of the 2005 Eclipse award for Grass Horse of the Year, which get eventers thinking about Berb’s cross country prowess. Berb himself won his debut race in 2015, a Maiden Special Weight race at Parx. His next wins came last year at Finger Lakes and he just isn’t firing this year. As is customary for this trainer, she listens to her charges when they tell her they are done with the game and Berb awaits his new life off the track.
