Bess’ Girl , 2014 15.3 bay mare

We listed this gorgeous daughter of Line of David, out of a Saint Ballado/Halo line mare, in the spring for a previous owner/trainer. But she was then picked up by another trainer, and wound up in the barn of yet a third trainer, who cannot keep her for the winter, so she needs to find a new home and career now.  She is as sweet and quiet as she is beautiful. Her uphill build and unique light colored tail will definitely catch attention! When we photographed her in May (when we took these photos) she politely stood as thunder rolled in. She jogged quietly on a loose lead and demonstrated a long sweeping walk and lovely ground covering balanced trot that looks like it will succeed in the show hunter ring. When we recently saw her with her latest owner/trainer on a very cold November day, she was furry and a bit on the thin side, needed some grooming, had not been out of the  barn in several days, and was missing a shoe and her feet were overdue for farrier care. So we did not get a new jog video, and did not get new pictures because the earlier photos show you what she will once again become when she gets some good care and TLC.  The trainer we originally listed her for says she is a sweet kind mare with no vices and an easy keeper whose grain she actually had to cut and she still kept good weight.  So she should be easy to return to her beautiful glory. Since coming to Finger Lakes this spring from Penn National, Bess has not only been through several hands, but she has been regularly raced every two weeks — she has 15 starts this year!  She could benefit from some R & R, turn out, and love!  But once she gets all that we think she has great potential to be a lovely show horse or pleasure horse.
