Best Ride, 2015 16.1h bay filly

This very sweet and cute, still growing young filly is sound, with clean legs, and after only 2 starts it is obvious that racing is not where her talent lies. But with her solid well balanced build, quiet temperament, and the fact that she is a half sister out of the same dam as Ride A Cat,  a horse we placed last year who is now proving to be an excellent scopey  jumper and who just showed very well in both the jumpers and hunters at the RRP, we think there is excellent potential for an equally successful sporting/jumping career for Best Ride. We watched her being groomed in her stall, standing politely, as her trainer readied her for her photo session.  She posed quietly, and waited patiently as a truck drove right by her, before jogging off on a loose lead. Her trainer said she was a bit distrustful of people when he first got her, but that she is now a friendly and kind filly with no vices (except being slow). We saw her just two days after she had raced, and she showed some of the tightness that horses often do after a race, but she also showed good reach to her trot, and we think that she is going to prove to be a very good mover just like her brother.  If she winds up having even half his talent over jumps, someone who steps up the this young girl is going to be very lucky indeed.  Her sire, Fast Draw, is a full  brother to Grand Slam, who is a noted sire of sport horses, and they are both by Gone West, another  good jumping influence in pedigrees.  Her dam is Sunday Ride, by Sunday Break, out of mare from Seattle Slew and Halo lines.
