Indy By Design, aka “Bo,” 2010 15.3+ ch gelding

It took some sleuthing on our part (aided by a legible tattoo!) to figure out Bo’s real name, and it is Indy By Design. His owner got him as a track pony a couple of years ago, and did not know his Jockey Club name. It turns out that Bo is lightly raced, with 6 starts, 1 win and two seconds in Florida– and he is a very well bred horse! Bo’s owner describes a situation where Bo was drilled before coming to them, and he was sore and underweight, a situation that inspired them to get him into a better life with them. Since then he has gained a lot of weight and they describe him now as an easy keeper and a sound all around friendly horse who is easy to work with and handle. He has been used as a pony for breaking babies and was a great track pony for his connections last year but, unfortunately, he just doesn’t enjoy this job anymore, and and they just want him to be happy in his work. Bo is a beautiful mover, with a light, lofty trot that makes us think he would be a very cute show hunter or dressage horse. Bo has an exceptional pedigree for sport/jumping disciplines. His sire is Mr. Greeley, who is a son of Gone West out of a Reviewer mare. His dam is a daughter of AP Indy out of a multiple grade 1 stakes winning mare by Rahya, a Blushing Groom son, and out of a Dixieland Ban mare. His owners/trainers are racetrack veterans with very well cared for horses and are happy to answer all questions you may have. The person who is lucky to get Bo and introduce him to a new career is going to get a great horse who needs no let down time and ready to go to work for you!
