BOLD LITTLE BABY, 2015 16+h bay mare — retained for racing

Located at Finger Lakes Race Track, Farmington, NY

Sweetest horse EVER!! That is what the handler who showed this pretty mare to us kept exclaiming over and over — that she was one of the sweetest horses she had ever dealt with. She said this was all the more remarkable because the mare is with a trainer who often makes his horses sour and grumpy, so the fact that this mare is so utterly sweet and loving and kind shows this is her enduring nature.  She told us that Bold Little Baby has had periodic soreness in her right front knee, but it has not kept her from racing. Indeed, she had raced just three days before we took her photos and videos, and she showed  a big flowing step at the walk and a nice flat kneed trot. We were told that her current trainer has not done any diagnostics on her knee.  We think Bold Little Baby will be fine for flat work disciplines, and perhaps more depending on diagnostics on the knee. Like many of the trainers’ horses, she is on the thin side, but with an upgrade and more TLC and groceries, she will fill right out.  Bold Little Baby is a West Virgina bred, and the RRP offers a lucrative award for the highest placing WVa bred (and there are usually not that many of them in the competition). She spent most of her racing career at Charlestown, and came to Finger Lakes this summer. She has 24 starts, with 3 wins and 46% top three finishes, so she obviously has a lot of heart and try in her.  Whoever brings this sweet girl home and gives her some time to recover from the rigors of racing is going to have a loving great horse to enjoy!  Her sire is Siento El Trueno, by City Zip out of a Valid Appeal mare. Her dam is a Two Punch granddaughter.
