BOSTON BILLY, 2017 15.2h dark bay gelding

Sometimes the best things come in small packages. For those of you of average height who do not need a big horse, but are looking for a well-bred upper level prospect that has big strided movement to equal a larger mount, Boston Billy is your horse!  We admired his athletic balanced build and shiny dappled appearance. His trainer says that Billy is a sound and happy horse.  He posed like a gentleman and jogged on a loose lead without even a chain over his nose. Billy displayed light ground covering movement with good reach from the shoulders. Billy has one win in 28 starts, has yet to hit the board in 5 races this year, and his connections realize that second win is elusive so it is best to move him on to a new career — and his potential for any new career is unlimited.  Billy’s handler describes him as a playful and smart horse, without a mean bone in his body — but he likes to test people to see what he can get away with. As soon as Billy realizes he can’t get away with something with a person, he doesn’t try it again, his handler reports. His personality means that Billy is best suited for an experienced and patient person who will firmly and confidently let Billy know they are the alpha, but without undue harshness. HIs handler says Billy would love to find his own person that he can bond with and develop mutual trust and understanding — and then he will give you his all. Billy has experience being around young kids, dogs, and lots of activity, and he is fine with all that.  His sire is Congrats, by AP Indy. Billy’s dam is by Arch, from the Kris S./Roberto sire line and a Danig and Alydar damsire line, and she is out of a Montbrook mare from the Buckpasser line.  These are stout proven sport horse lines.
