As he walked out of the shadows in the barn into the sunlight, we couldn’t help but comment that he looked like a shiny, newly minted penny! This gorgeous youngster has been a dud on the racetrack and his owner is anxious for him to get a good home that is better suited to his talents. Because he hasn’t been doing much since his last race when the connections decided that it was not productive to racetrain him, he was a bit frisky for his meet and greet outside. His handler did a great job standing him up and was able to keep him at a controlled jog, where he showed beautiful movement with lots of suspension. His handler has also been his exercise rider and remarks that he is a good boy to gallop. Because he is an intact male, he is mouthy, but the good news is that his owner is willing to pay for his gelding operation before he leaves the track, where he can receive the proper post-gelding attention and exercise to facilitate healing. Breathing Shadow is reported to be well mannered and sound. He is by Heavy Breathing, a son of Giant’s Causeway out of a Tapit mare, with Gone West in the sire pedigree, good lines for sporting disciplines. We have a hunch that this flashy young hunk has got some serious potential to bring out. Don’t wait to call!
