This beautiful homebred young gelding is described as an in your pocket, playful horse with a great temperament. He had one very slow and unsuccessful start in April, and when he worked very slowly in late May, the trainer had him physically checked out, and it turns out that he has small chips in a knee. The chips have not bothered him, and he has not been unsound and he has not had any heat or swelling in his knees. The x-rays are available from the trainer, and we shared them with a friend who is an equine orthopedic surgeon and an eventer, and that person said they would happily take on this horse as their own eventing prospect! While the chips may never bother Brother Joe, arthroscopic surgery could also be done to remove them, with an excellent prognosis for Joe’s ability to do any discipline without limitation. He displayed light good movement for his jog video, although he was a bit eager while jogging towards the race track where horses were training. Brother Joe is by Fast Anna, who is by Medaglia D’Oro out of a Rahy mare. You can’t beat these ElPrado/Sadler’s Wells and Blushing Groom bloodlines for sport disciplines! Brother Joe’s dam is by Pulpit, a son of AP Indy. He comes from a dam line of competitive stakes winning mares, so there is a lot of heart and try in his female family.
