If you’re looking for a lovely moving, bold jumping big sound OTTB who has already had his down time from racing and is progressing well in a retraining program, this one is for you! Wesson last raced at Finger Lakes in 2010, and has had good flat work and jumping retraining. He is a bold jumper who seems to love it, and he has handled 2’6″ with ease. On the flat he is forward and nicely balanced and supple, and looks like he should do well in the dressage phase of eventing. He is an excellent prospect for eventing or for local hunter/jumper shows. His pedigree is excellent for sport — he is from the Gone West sire line, with Pleasant Colony, His Majesty, Stage Door Johnny, Private Account, Damascus all close up. He is clean legged and sound, leggy and big with very nice conformation. We loved his kind and intelligent eye and elegant head. He is currently at a dressage barn very close to the Finger Lakes race track, where you can try him out. The barn owner/trainer there says he is great to handle with no vices, and that he gets along well with other horses in turn out. We watched her groom him, and can vouch for his good manners. His owner sadly needs to part with him because she is expecting her first child, and will soon have to stop riding. She wants him to go to a home with an experienced rider who will be able to give him the time he deserves and bring out his outstanding athletic potential.
