Alex is by Afleet Alex, and out of a Giant’s Causeway mare. He has earned over $320,000 in his 52 starts with 12 wins, 9 seconds, and 11 thirds (WOW!!), all while remaining the barn favorite for his trainer’s assistant and her young children. He is described as a kindhearted warhorse, with a gentleman’s attitude and a wise soul. The assistant trainer was absolute gushing over Alex and was almost in tears when discussing having to send him off to a new home. She reports that her young children love Alex and he will very quietly stand to be pet, groomed, and even walked by them. Alex did have a small tendon injury about 8 weeks ago, but he has been rested since then and is jogging sound. He displayed very nice movement at the jog (even with some missing shoes) and was totally quiet despite being on stall rest for some time. He is reported to have no stall vices.
