CHARLIE RIFFIC, 2014 17h bay gelding

Located at Finger Lakes Race Track, Farmington, NY
Ter -Riffic indeed!  The photos absolutely just do not do justice to this big, gorgeous warmblood imposter with a great personality and fabulous movement!!! On the day that we had the privilege of photographing the fabulous Charlie, we had a new volunteer with us who was also looking for her own dream upper level event horse prospect — and out of 23 great horses that we saw Charlie was her first choice. But the trainer said that Charlie had to race one more time in October before he would let him retire from racing and go on to a new career.  So this very savvy person who with good reason thought that Charlie was an outstanding  upper level sport horse prospect had to pass him by just due to the timing of an available trailer and stall.   Well, for those of you who are serious about getting an outstanding upper level eventing/jumpers/rated show hunters prospect, this is your great opportunity!  Charlie should be at the very top of the list for anyone who is seriously looking for an upper level sport horse prospect.  The photos just do  not show how fabulous he is… just watch his video where he shows light and lofty and flowing big strided movement!  Trust us  — we saw him in person, and he is stunning! He has a noble and elegant presence. He has great bone and a strong sloping shoulder.  He has great big strong feet.  He has a friendly and loving personality.  He is a  beautiful mover with  a balanced, light, and  lofty trot and a big flowing walk with a big overstep. He is adored by his groom, and by his handler who is the trainer’s daughter — she says he knows his name and responds when you call out “Charlie,”  and that he loves getting his butt scratched. He is described as an an all around good guy to handle and work with and ride, with no vices or issues, sound and clean legged. He has spent winters on his trainer’s farm and he is reported to be good in turn out with other horses.  Charlie is a Massachusetts bred, and his racing success has been in races restricted to MA breds. In past years, Finger Lakes had races limited to MA breds, but this track no longer offers these races, and Charlie has not been as competitive in races open to any horses.  That is the only reason why they want to find him a new home and career.  Charlie has 35 starts, 2 wins, and  6 second place and 5 third place finishes. Charlie’s sire Field Commission is from Deputy Minister and Broad Brush sire lines.  His dam is by Chief Seattle,  who is a son of Seattle Slew, out of a mare from the Halo line.  These are great sport horse bloodlines! Charlie is one of the top sort horse prospects we have listed, so dont’ wait to make him a star in a new career!
