Chasing Carrots, 2014, 16.3 h, chestnut gelding

Located at Finger Lakes Racetrack, Farmington, NY (close to Rochester, NY).  Carrots was described to us as a “gentle giant who just wants love”. And some of the shoppers walking around with us on Saturday were more than happy to supply it. They were quite enamored with him! We were told that Carrots is very nice to work around, has no stable vices and is good to ride. He started racing relatively late in life (as a 4-year old); with only 5 starts, he has never placed on the boards. He is described as “super sound” and we observed clean, straight legs with nice bone. This tall, lanky youngster is well put together with a deep body, long neck, and stands over a lot of ground. He was a little distracted on a blustery day as we tried to take his photos; we were told this kind boy likes routine, so he may benefit from a little quiet downtime to continue to fill out and mature. He already has a great hunter look about him, so we can’t wait to see him filled out with a little more muscle. He jogged soundly for us with cute, springy, hunter-like movement. Carrots is by Comeonmon and out of a Gate Dancer mare. He is entered to race again on 11/19/19, and is not available to go until then. But it does give you the unique opportunity to watch his last race (and keep the program as a memento)! The owner of this beloved homebred really cares about finding him a truly excellent home. Is that you?
