Chiqueto Romero, 2013, 16h+ Bay Gelding

This adorable young gelding is proof that quality racing bloodlines don’t always create the best racehorses. His connections described that despite a consistent training effort, he seems much more fit to be a track pony than a racehorse. Chiqueto is a good looking youngster who has been pretty much a washout on the track with 9 lifetime starts and three third place finishes. He is by United States, a son of A.P. Indy. He is described as sound with a sweet, laid back personality– much too laid back to find the grit and kick needed to get himself around the racetrack in a timely manner. Luckily, he is a fine mover with good bone and conformation. At 4 years old, he will continue to mature, but he is well on his way to making a stunning sporthorse prospect. In our meet and greet on a blustery fall day in Western New York, Chiqueto was happy to cuddle and love on our volunteers quietly and unfazed by the gusty winds and passing rain. He is reported as sound with clean legs and no stable vices. We could see him making a great all around horse who could go any direction! This boy has the “cuteness” factor that will turn heads wherever he goes!
