Chump Change, 2012 15.2h bay mare

Located at a farm near Finger Lakes Race Track, Farmington, NY
This shiny girl with an adorable face is an easygoing cutie. And a ‘health
nut’ too!’(we were told by her handler that this pretty girl prefers apples
and carrots to peppermints!) But even though she turned down our candy, she
was still very affectionate and appreciated the scritches and smooches that
we lavished upon her! And her cute name made us smile.

We liked her wide chest and her solid, well-proportioned and balanced body.
Her slightly longer frame suggests a more hunter-like appearance and
movement. Even though (like her stablemate,  Appian) she had raced only two
days prior to our visit, we observed her to jog soundly with relaxed rhythm
and fluid hunter-like movement. We saw her go quietly and relaxed on a loose
lead. Her assistant trainer stated, “a little kid could walk her” and shared
that her special needs son often visits her and helps to feed her.

By Pomeroy (Damascus, Buckpasser, In Reality) and out of a Forestry mare
(Storm Cat, Pleasant Colony, Mr.Prospector), she has a nice smattering of
sport horse sires peppered into her pedigree that produce good movers, good
jumpers and good brains. We could see her being a willing partner who could
do well in a variety of disciplines.

This mare, who started her race career at Gulfstream Park and Pimlico, has
been a consistently good performer at the track; in her 45 starts, she has a
record of 10-11-2, and lifetime earning exceeding $135,000. We think this is
a testament to her durability, great attitude and solid work ethic. Her
trainer told us that she has an entry at the end of the race meet and her
connections want to hold her until then, but this gives you the unique
opportunity to see her in action and perhaps snag a program as memento!
Because we think who ever claims this pretty mare is definitely no chump!

Price: $1,500 neg.
