City Dr, 2014 16h bay gelding

The announcer at Finger Lakes calls him City Doctor (which is correct), and the announcer at Presque Isle calls him City Drive, but we think you can call this son of Freud out of a City Zip mare one big gorgeous hunk of horse!  The assistant trainer, who works with him every day, says that he is just an awesome horse to be around, a kind, quiet unflappable gentleman.  She says that he loves kids, is fine with dogs running around, and is completely unfazed by golf carts, tractors, or heavy construction equipment.  Sounds like he will handle the horse show environment just fine!  City Dr has a solid build he has, and a kind eye, and flashy markings.

City Dr incurred a minor hole in his deep digital flexor tendon in the spring of 2019, and they have thoroughly, carefully, and properly rehabbed him and he is now pronounced 100% healed, ready to do anything — he is cleared to go back even to racing, and he has been regularly breezing throughout the summer of 2020, so he is fully eligible for the 2021 RRP. City Dr’s rehab included shock wave, stall rest, handwalking, and then turn out, before he started back under saddle, progressing to published workouts. In his recent workouts, he is not showing the same speed that he used to display, so they have decided it would be best for him to move on to a new career. This is a rare opportunity to get a beautiful, kind, young gelding with a great temperament at a bargain price, and someone else did the rehab and you can reap the benefit! City Dr has had 13 starts, with 3 wins. We took a video of him last November, when his owner was still deciding whether to overwinter him and bring him back to the races, or not. He showed a very good light and balanced trot with good reach from the shoulders. To further assess his movement we watched the videos of those 3 winning races, and we were impressed! We saw a beautiful mover, with a fluid, balanced, flat kneed and big strided gallop and trot. Freud offspring tend to be good movers and good jumpers, and we think this handsome guy has excellent sport horse potential, whether in the show hunter ring or in eventing or dressage. He has a lot of great sport horse sires in his pedigree in addition to Freud (who is Giant’s Causeway’s full brother). Rahy, two crosses of Blushing Groom, City Zip, Roberto, Meadowlake, Relaunch/In Reality, Graustark/Ribot.
