Her owner/trainer says she has an osselet that has been bothering her, but with some normal let down time from racing, it should not be an issue with any discipline that involves less high speed pounding than racing…which means all other disciplines! He says she is the smartest horse he has ever been around, which suggests she should quickly absorb retraining and enjoy the challenge of learning new things. Clever Spirit is also described as a quiet sensible good girl, good to handle and work with. She posed beautifully for her pictures, and showed an all around sense of class and alert intelligence. While we see great potential for an eventing, dressage, or H/J career, Clever Spirit is also worth very serious consideration from breeders. Her female family is full of quality graded black type. Her second dam is a stakes winner and producer; her third dam, a daughter of Secretariat, is a multiple stakes producer who has six daughters who were also stakes producers, including multiple grade 1 and grade 2 stakes producers. This gorgeous and classy daughter of the great and beloved Smarty Jones is also quite the bargain, so you had better call fast! Her owners care a great deal about finding excellent homes for their horses, so references will be required.
