Cockeyed Rooster, 2008, 16.1h Bay Gelding

Here’s a name you could have fun with! This beauty is a well bred boy-he is by Elusive Quality out of a Southern Halo mare.  He sold as a yearling for $135,000 so here’s your chance to own a six figure horse for a small fraction of that.  Cockeyed Rooster last raced in November of 2016.  He was brought back to the track this year to breeze but just didn’t show the same aptitude that he once did, so his owner/trainer took him back to the farm to live the good life.  Cockeyed Rooster is a great choice for someone who wants to break into the world of OTTBs but is a bit reluctant to take one directly off the track.  He has been let down for ample time at the farm and is ready to start his second career.  His owner reports he has been ridden at the farm in an English and Western saddle. She reports Rooster is a strong, athletic horse, but well mannered, classy, and intelligent.  He is reported to be sound on old osselets.  He has no stall vices.  On a blustery, rainy day that had many horses feeling their oats, Cockeyed Rooster was quiet and polite during his photo shoot, seeming to like the attention.  He jogged quietly on a loose lead.  Please note he is missing a shoe and is overdue for a trim in his jog video.  It is possible (but not certain) that his owner could arrange a trial ride for seriously interested parties. His owner is very concerned with finding Rooster the very best of homes.  References will be required and checked and his connections will take him back should he ever require a new home.
