Colleen’s Angel, 2011 16h bay filly

This still growing sweet faced homebred filly is described as very athletic and very sound.  She is a half sister to Clean Jean, a stakes winning mare who is a virtual winning machine. While Colleen has not inherited the racing ability of her illustrious sister, she has great potential for sporting disciplines.  Her trainer says she gets stressed  about racing, and uses up enough nervous energy before the start that she shows early speed and then tires out. He says when she is at their farm and gets turned out, she settles right down and is a different horse than on the track.  Her legs are very clean, and she has well balanced conformation. While she was too “up” for her video to get much appreciation for her trot, her trainer says she is actually a beautiful mover, and he is an astute and very reliable horseman who knows his stuff.  As he worked to settle Colleen down to get her to walk and jog for us (it was very cold, and she had just been walking since her most recent race 5 days before we photographed her), we got to observe how attentive and responsive she was to her handler. It was obvious that she wants to be a really good girl.  She has had the best of care, and you will be able to learn her entire history since she is still with her breeders.  This young girl has unlimited potential for a sporting career in our opinion. She will be at her owner’s farm very close to the Finger Lakes Race track where you can inspect her.
