We looked up the origin of this handsome boy’s unusual name and discovered that it is a Greek word which means “a reveler,” or one who follows the goddess Cybele with ecstatic dancing. It seemed fitting, then, that this beautifully put together and solidly built horse impressed us as being quite athletic with nice reach to his trot. Apropos of his name, he was “happy” for his photo session, but that was understandable since he had missed his turnout because of inclement weather, hadn’t been out of his stall in days, and had a lot of pent-up energy. He was respectful of his handler and posed nicely for us despite the rain. What we did see impressed us. We think that between his beautiful chiseled head, his proportional, solid build and glimpses of really nice movement, Cory is an exciting sporting prospect. He is very well bred as well, by champion and successful international sire Johannesburg out of a stakes winning mare. He has 17 starts and is retiring from racing sound, because his owner has gotten out of the game. This is a bargain price for a very attractive, nice moving, sound young horse, so don’t hesitate to call!
